WTTF??????

This is probably the most profound shit I've ever
seen on a television show

Never seen ELLEN come off this way even and he did it
at a time when it wasn't convenient

I was too young, don't remember it

But yeah....y'all have basically IGNORED one of the
best people on TV ever

Sad, he should be lauded as a hero

(I'm kidding)

This is one of the best moments for his show. Old Arsenio Youtube clips are amazing - I go down the rabbit hole with them all the time. Unfortunately, he didn't adjust the new show to the contemporary audience. Dude was ahead of his time before, and behind the times now.

That said - this clip is great.

It may in fact by the first episode of Arsenio that I ever watched. He handled himself great, and I remember him being amped off of it fort he rest of the episode.

Show had a lot of 'em.

I got caught up in this suggested video on the side, L-Boogie & Jeru debating in the street with Meth and others looking on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE8ENpivjsw

Lauryn Hill was the total package in the mid-to-late-90's, loved everything about that girl.

What's so profound about this? That was basically the showbiz paradigm at the time. I don't discriminate. I have gay friends. It doesn't matter if you're gay. It's just a 'joke'. That was pretty much standard fare for Donahue, Oprah, Letterman, et al.

nah, just playin, you can tell when something comes from the heart.

I don't know if it was "gay rights", at least, not in the way people sell it nowadays but it was entertaining and honest.

Something about it rang false to me. I was like 13, though.

It was a watershed moment. It may have been a concern for LA but middle America wasn't having that. Only later did people start coming out of the closet. I remember he talked about it with guests.

Even Arsenio this time around didn't seem to come with that much fire in his belly.
