"Lets be real, FX is killing the fucn TV game" Mon May-12-14 01:44 AM by astralblak
with it's quality. i have no idea about ratings
The Americans is the best shit on TV. Yup better than Madmen. I haven't seen GoT, so I'll reserve judgement for later.
Fargo seems to be right on The Americans heels. the first four episodes have been damn near as perfect as TV can get.
We all know the gem that Louie is, it's my personal third favorite show behind The Wire and Breaking Bad
then there is Wilfred, which I have no idea why people ignore on these boards. I've never gone too hard with Archer but whenever I catch it I laugh. Last summer's The Bridge had it's moments too.
they also have The Strain and Tyrant on deck which sound / look good.
the only kinda disappointing thing they've release is Saint Jorge. It's funny but the white-mexican race jokes are cringe worthy a lot and the casting of the son is turrbl

It is Justified. The Americans is very good. But not great yet imo. I think the network is very good. I like Fargo now, and look forward to The Strain and Tyrant. They do a very good job developing shows. I look forward to the return of The Bridge. Currently place them second only behind HBO. I do see them getting a lot better. Justified, Louie and Fargo are great.
because that shit got real promising in the second half. I really liked it. I liked how I had almost no idea what kind of show it was (crime, sports? family drama?)

This whole argument in general is weird.

THAT's exactly why I responded. Not because it's another dumb-ass "comparison for fun!" post. Not at all.

AMC is the GOAT network of all time
FX is straight killing it on tv etc.
is the fact that folk act like this shit is a shock and brand new.
These networks have been in existence for YEARS. Where the fuck have you been living to NOT have noticed this?
You just NOW found TV? FX had Damages, Dirt (Matthew Carnahan before he did House of Lies), Lights Out, Terriers, Thief, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck the early seasons, The Riches, The Shield, etc.
ALL these shows KILLED IT the entire time they were on the air. Like, did you just now realize FX existed or something? Or were you too busy worshipping CBS procedurals or praying that NBC would keep the Bionic Woman remake on air? SMH
Yes to The Americans, Wilfred, Louie (how you NOT saying Louie? Louie STAYS killing it), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Justified (and the lot of y'all niggas who SLEEP on this show is ridiculous. But i'ma let you stew and cook over this burnt ass "OMG FX IS THE GOAT NETWORK OF ALL TIME NIGGA" shock and awe stew you clearly been stirring FOR YEARS.
for real, do better. FX has been quietly slaying the game for years. Catch up.
niggas was in high school when nip/tuck was popping.
plus shows like sopranos/the wire/BB made people a lot more interested in serialized television, and networks like AMC and FX were ready to capitalize.
i'll say this tho: In the last few years, I've gone from only watching a handful of shows to not having the time to keep up with all this good stuff. Shit I need to catch up on Fargo (not due to lack of interest) and now I'm supposed to be watching The Americans and Hannibal? And Orange is the New Black coming back next week? Good lord.

>niggas was in high school when nip/tuck was popping.
actually niggas was in high school, college and out of it when Nip/Tuck was on..and? smh
but you get what I mean...doesn't matter how old you were when these shows were on.
FX has been real consistent with the number of hits and misses in the shows it's has had on and every single one has been quality. And the shows they cancelled (Terriers, etc.) were WAY better than much of what broadcast has to offer. So even the misses were still quality TV. to act like FX just now started producing hot shit is silly on a host of levels.
> >plus shows like sopranos/the wire/BB made people a lot more >interested in serialized television, and networks like AMC and >FX were ready to capitalize.
um people have always been interested in serialized television and many of the FX shows listed got the same kind water cooler talk the wire/the sopranos/BB etc. got...they did.

that's why you have netflix, hulu plus, amazon prime and cable on demand cause most if not all of those shows will be up (entire seasons) most of the summer going into the fall.
I'm sure NBC will keep Hannibal up until at least mid Fall, take it down and put all of it seasons back up in time for season three...

From 2000-to about 2005 I did not have a tv in my room/home were I lived. I only watched sports with my pop or friends. I was too busy painting, organizing, and reading for pleasure and in college. I was literally one of those people who never knew about shows on tv, didn't care really. from 06-08 me and my ex didn't have cable, not because we couldnt afford it, but because we "hated tv," we werent even watching, lol. Shit I didn't even watch the wire until maybe 07. I didnt decide to get cable and just watch tv until 2009.
So yes I did miss a lot of the shows you mentioned. When friends told me about the shield or nip/tuck I couldn't get into them because I handn't watched from the beginning, which I HAVE to do with serialized tv. My cousin literally forced me to buy the first three seasons of Breaking Bad before season 4, because he knew I was missing out.
As for Louie, I mentioned it in the third line. But I guess the subject line had you very upset that you didnt bother to read. It is easily one of my favorite shows ever, which ironically, I "discovered" on Netflix last year.
Been meaning to get on Justified, but its only on amazon prime right now and I dont feel like buying the disc yet.
