Honestly, the last couple Louis C.K. of specials I've watched weren't that great, which is bizarre since I saw him live and he killed it. But a lot of that material ended up in Louis instead of the standup special.
Although I've never seen a bigger difference between live show and special than Jo Koy. Hilarious at the Laugh Factory and the special was awful.

Jo's special was fine if you like his material...but live, he's a different animal. Also, he gets to do a lot of musical material live that he can't do on TV for licensing reasons (IE his jokes about his uncle singing Bruno Mars, his MJ Man in the Mirror bit, or whatever). That stuff makes the live experience really fun.

and i don't know what it says about me, or louis, or the guy doing the impression, but i probably would watch an hour of louis doing the classics if they were anything like this. funny stuff.
