Opening episode was pretty good last night, though I'm hoping they don't ride this "what did Marty and Jeanie do when they were drunk??????" flashback shit for too long... ultimately, no one cares. I also wonder if they're going to do something with Jeanie's meaningless promotion... I didn't mind the scene with Marty and Roscoe eating lunch while being serenaded by the bee girl... seems like they might be focusing on the father-son relationship more...
It also appears that they've done away (or at least for this episode) with the freeze-the-action-and-have-Don-give-exposition-to-the-audience shit that people found annoying. We're apparently also doing away with the client-of-the-week, though it looked like we were setting up a new client to explore in episode 2...
It also looks like this season we're going to have Marty's ex try being a lesbian, which is only interesting if it's Kristen Bell's character doing it...
I just hope we get at least one more appearance from Megalyn Echikunwoke...

It was so obvious. She gives us the foreshadowing. Expect for season 3 to be about Marty's new interracial "love"-child, and issues developing between him and his son Roscoe, after they've seemed to be making a positive breakthrough.

Nobody is discussing Ep. 3? I'll admit that not much happened (aside from the usual bullshit party between the pod & the clients, i.e. an all-out orgy). Dude with the glasses (I forgot his name) likes to get it in the butt. That last scene was hilarious. Roscoe's mom is dykin, now. And speaking of Roscoe, goddamn that bitch is spoiled. Material possessions aside, he has an understanding grandfather to boot, and he still walks around with an air of entitlement. So, now he's a gay goth?
One of the douche brothers smacking Marty on the ass during the orgy scene was LO-fucking-L.
Can't for the next week's Ep. (with Matt Damon, goddammit). finally.

yeah, Nia (Tamara, I think) and Jennie seemed like they were prepping us for catfights. But, now I'm perplexed. Is there something malicious that Tamara is supposed to unleash, or is she gonna serve as a buffer for Marty & Jennie? I'm not sure if I've fully accepted her as a vital member of the Pod.
I figured that Marty's ex could be just trynna get attention (like you said). That just makes her seem even more of a manipulative bitch. We'll see where all of this goes. This season is really leaving much to be desired, so far. They're stalling too much.

I gotta say I'm really feeling last weeks ep. I love the fact that they are at least touching on the complexities of leaving a frim to start your own. It's a half hour sit com so can't expect much, but I did think it was going to be one of those, I'm out one ep, and in the new shop next ep situations. Getting into the dynamics of poaching and choosing sides, with old boss lady playing the odds and all that, it gives a bit more credibility to things I felt were lacking earlier.
One plot hole so far, is didn't Marty sign the bank to his new firm, and how has that not made others aware of his intentions yet.
Hand jobs before meetings work.
The Marty and Tamara thing is interesting and I think this next episode is going to reveal it. But I loved the way they played Marty's ex. They were both following each others lead to a tee. Only problem was that it was more business management than relationship management.
Last thing - That Cheadle Tate scene with the check may have been one of the best black scenes on TV right now.

wasn't the last scene the first he let the other two guys know about leaving? they both just set up some sweet deals, is he bringing them along.
sucks we'll have to end on all the fallout, i really want to know how they end up because it seems to me like marty should have aimed a little smaller to start (based on the property he was looking at).

Anyway....I loved it....even the little scene w/Glynn Turman and Cheadle prior to Marty laying the BOOM down on Tamara....just loved it.

Evidenced by the fact he made the decision solely on the fact Jeannie knew before him. It was the ultimate bitch move. Beyond selling out his boy, going to his ex to do so... bitch made.
That said Marty should have put them on earlier. I don't think they would have wanted the Carlson deal but the Doug one and keeping Doug on the team would have been a smarter move. Now he's gotta build a team while hitting the ground running.
