Some great visuals but I can see audiences laughing at that last shot, which they probably should but the trailer seemed to take it seriously. And as unfair as it might be, this could suffer box office-wise from the failure that was Cowboys and Aliens and I think the release date is pretty tough. Two weeks after Prometheus, same week as Pixar's Brave, and a week before GI Joe (and after that Spider-Man). So basically, they have one week to make their money and I really don't see this as a film that will get enough people out on opening weekend.
just realized i havent read pride and prejudiced zombies but read queen victoria demon hunter instead
not sure how this will translate read about abe was odd seeing abe lol dunno but i'm def interested ~~~~ When you are born, you cry, and the world rejoices. Live so that when you die, you rejoice, and the world cries. ~~~~ You cannot hate people for their own good.

...and not in a good way...
Besides having a rushed story which y'all can already figure out beat by beat 15 or minutes before it happens, this shit should've been a comedy cause it come as an unintentionally comedy. One part the audience couldn't stop laughing at is when Abe tells his son to come give him a kiss, and then Anthony Mackie's character does the same thing. Shit is just goofy all the way around. I mean fro some reason every vampire knew karate and and shit, and during the ending train sequence when Abe and Mackie are sharing Abe's axe, he knows all of the axe swinging moves from some reason, that we watched Abe learn in a two minute montage 15 minutes in.
Also, the horse jumping seen...yeah...
This shit felt rushed. And I can't even remember half of what went down yo and I only saw it an hour and a half ago. And if you HAVE to see it, see it in 3D..trust me the 3D makes even more funnier...
And the book that kicked it all off, Pride, Prejuice, and Zombies has been in development forever with a lot of big names attached but it keeps falling apart.

This shit was cool in some places but it just fucking drug it's knuckles in quite a few places. I was bored for too many spots in the movie. It was otherwise what I expected (cheesy popcorn fare) but the action scenes were all sorely lacking and the explanation for how Abe acquired his, uh, "power" was flat out fucking stupid.
I did like a few elements, but they weren't enough to really make this thing exciting...
-the angle of why he "really" went to war with the south. Interesting spin on that IMO. -The explanation of why silver was deadly to them was dope, and I like how simple it was. -I did like the (easily) predictable twist on Henry, as it added some depth to the story. It wasn't executed well, and they really didn't go there with it though.
Overall, I felt like they either needed to make it much darker with greater suspense and an element of true terror, or inject some humor into it. As it was it took itself too seriously for such a campy movie, and the exact same movie with a healthy dose of humor would've made a world of difference.
One other thing that would've made a huge difference was an engaging villain. What a boring fucking villain.
C movie. It doesn't do anything particularly well and while it doesn't fall off a cliff, it's just sort of there.
