HBO seems to always hit it out the park with their series. All have been good. Some I like better than others but nevertheless, HBO is the best thing on television right now.
Aight, here goes my list in order:
1.The Wire 2.The Sopranos 3.Pacific 4.OZ 5.Band of Brothers 6.Entourage 7.Curb your enthusiasm 8.Trueblood (my least fav of all their series)

and I haven't seen it all the way through but I what I did see I liked...but since so many of you all are acting like I committed a tv/cinema faux pau, I'll make sure I get the box set and watch it all the way through to make a fair assessment of the show.
1. The Sopranos 2. The Wire 3. From the Earth to the Moon 4. Band of Brothers 5. Deadwood 6. The Pacific 7. True Blood 8. Entourage 9. Carnivale 10. Larry Sanders Show
14. "I can only rank the shows I've seen..." In response to Reply # 0 Wed May-05-10 12:08 AM by mrhood75
...and I have yet to see "Band of Brothers" (yeah, yeah, I know. I suck. I own it but have yet to watch it. I'm sure it's great). So bearing that in mind, here goes:
1. The Wire 2. The Sopranos 3. Deadwood 4. Generation Kill 5. The Pacific (probably will end up higher once I watch the whole season and view the eps a few more times) 6. Curb Your Enthusiasm 7. Oz 8. The Larry Sanders Show 9. Six Feet Under 10. Eastbound and Down 11. Entourage

1.Deadwood 2.The Wire 3.Sopranos 4.Six Feet Under - great show, great cast. My entire fam watched this every Sunday when I was in high school. 5.True Blood 6.Generation Kill 7.Carnivale 8.Entourage 9.Tell me You Love me - the sex kept me watching. 10.John from Cincinnati - yup, if only for Milch's intent and ambition and Kem Nunn's surfing authenticity, ignoring Milch's poor execution of an idea or his ability to alienate an audience.
Haven't seen The Pacific, and can't add Treme until Season 1 is complete.

17. "Glad and somewhat surprised that so many of you have the Wire" In response to Reply # 0
ranked as the best HBO series. I know many people that would be ready to come to blows that so many of us have the Wire ranked higher than The Sopranos.
19. "I have a few friends who are Deadwood fanatics..." In response to Reply # 0
I haven't seen it yet...but I will.
I think The Sopranos and The Wire are basically equally brilliant, and to rank one over the other is akin to choosing your favorite sibling or grandparent.
I think Curb Your Enthusiasm is the best comedy series I've seen.
I think Entourage used to be extremely entertaining and now its whack.
Why do BOB and Generation Kill count? I've seen neither, but I thought they were more mini-series. For that matter John Adams should definitely be counted, because it was brilliant.
So far, I think Treme is very strong and has a lot of potential (I've only seen the first 4 eps.)
My lady loves True Blood and Big Love. From what I've seen, Big Love is pretty stellar, and True Blood has no appeal to me.
I only saw a few episodes of that comedy where the dude was the private eye or whatever and thought it was ass.

20. "never had premiums, hardly watch cable by choice" In response to Reply # 0
but ive bought the wire (greatest show ever) and curb (almost funniest shit ever)... generation kill was a zzzzz fest, couldnt even finish watchin the series
21. "dont sleep on mr show / carnivale / lucky louie" In response to Reply # 0
carnivale its easily top 5 same with mr show. i dont have hbo so im not up on everything i still gotta watch deadwood and curbed and then any of the shows that are new in the last few years. i think i would put sopranos over the wire but maybe not. both shows final seasons are garbage. mr show is great. carnivale had two great seasons but then got the ax. lucky louie was good not the best sitcom ever or anything but i like it and i think it would have continued to improve if given a chance. i liked six feet under but it wasnt great but it would prob make the top 10. plus you have the larry sanders show and i bet real time with bill maher might be able to sneak in at the bottom of my top 10. it doesnt have replay value like a scripted show but its entertained me for many years (you can podcast the show for free)
It was a show that aired on HBO Ole and was On Demand with English subtitles. Cool show around a girl that moves to Sao Paulo, Brazil from the country and gets involved in a series of adventures (Think Brazil)

1. The Wire 2. Band Of Brothers (1 and 2 are on an even higher level than the other great shit)
3. Sopranos 4. Six Feet Under 5. Deadwood 6. Generation Kill 7. Rome 8. Oz 9. Curb Your Enthusiasm (only because I've watched it less consistently than the other ones) 10. Eastbound and Down 11. Big Love 12. Flight Of The Conchords 13. True Blood 14. Entourage
And most likely soon to be appearing high on the list I'll say Treme and The Pacific, just haven't seen them all and can't say where I'd put them yet. I only wanted to put thing I've seen all or most of on the list.
