1. Mad Men
2. Sons of Anarchy
3. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
4. Big Love
5. Eastbound & Down
6. Curb Your Enthusiasm
7. Dexter
8. Archer
9. Men Of A Certain Age
10. Rescue Me (though this is giving more credit to older seasons)

I've unfortunately never seen an episode of Breaking Bad, gonna try and catch that whenever AMC gets it up OnDemand again. Also kinda lost track of Damages in the middle of the first season because I didn't have the time then, but I wanna pick that back up at some point because I heard season two was solid.

And by the time summer hits, I expect The Pacific would be in the top two or three of this list as well. And I'm pumped about Justified as well. I love the return of Timothy Olyphant as a badass law figure. If I can't get new Deadwood, I'll take it.

I've tapped out of almost all of my shows. Got tired with Psyche and Burn Notice. Missed the last season of Dexter. Kind of have given up on Entourage. Was really disappointed with the premiere of "Life and Times of Tim". Can't stand Bill Maher anymore and I took it off the DVR to do list after this season's premiere.

Granted, I don't watch much TV but a few years ago there were a ton of shows I was watching.

he's always been a pompous dick who i happen to agree with on several issues. when he's not whining about meat, or religion, or anyone who lives in a small town, he's not so bad.

i'll probably keep watching if just for the guests. i thought the premiere was ok. i like elizabeth warren a lot, and i agree to an extent with his assessment of the tea party as a directionless cult, but he's still an irritating dude who's way too impressed with himself.

Two of those are network-produced shows that don't air on the network though... Actually, I'm not sure what channel plays LotS, as I've always downloaded it.

38. "It's still considered a network show"
In response to Reply # 28
Mon Feb-22-10 07:20 PM by ZooTown74

It didn't start on cable then get ported to the network like those other shows. Besides, the first 3 seasons premiered on network TV.

And yes, it's an NBC/DirecTV co-production, but NBC (not DirecTV) makes/made the call on each season's pickup; that doesn't happen with those other shows, who have their own executives at USA and other cable networks to make those decisions...

In response to Reply # 29
Mon Feb-22-10 07:20 PM by ZooTown74

CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox, The CW are all broadcast networks. They mainly rely on advertising revenue to produce their programming.

USA, HBO, Showtime, The 101 Network, MTV, ESPN, FX, etc., are cable/satellite networks. Even though some of these networks have commercials, they mainly rely on fees arranged with subscribers and cable companies to make their money.

I don't care where it "premiered." I don't care about other shows that "premiered" on cable then got ported over to NBC for limited showings.

It's a network show. So that means, for this list, you have to pick another show.

Others receiving votes: Colbert, The League, IASIP.

And I'm expecting Sons of Anarchy and that new western show that's coming out on FX to join this list.

1. Southland - yea it started on NBC, but now it's moved to TNT
2. Men of a Certain Age - A realistic show about men's issues with family and career (and it's a diverse cast)
3. Criminal Intent - Just a sucker for Law & Order
4. Boondocks
5. Countdown with Keith Olbermann
