"So I attempted to watch "The Happening" last night"

Clawd Jeebus what a turd...

I had an hour to kill before Eastenders came on last night and...knowing how wretched i'd heard it was, decided to see why..

I'm surprised people leaving the theatres didnt react the way the people in the movie did

Work on the pacing of that film and it could be hilarious. Ditto for "The Wicker Man".

That's really the only way to explain it. Wahlberg is fucking awful in it. "Think, douchebag, think!" and "Stay ahead of the wind" are classic lines to me. The whole wind chase scene is hilarious.

it only applies to the internal logic of basa's manufactured night-dogg vs. tarantino agena. objectively it really has nothing to do with anything.

It was his homage to the old, cheesy horror films. Essentially, it was his Death Proof (and I honestly like it better than Death Proof).

They both made bad movies that made fun of bad movies. They should both be given and L and we can move on.

manoj wasn't making fun of bad movies, he was trying to be serious... which is what made it kinda unintentionally funny.

and yeah Death Proof was just about as bad.

He said that before the film came out. Obviously he failed with the "excellent" part but he nailed the b-movie feel. As I've said, if he just edited down a bit it could be hilarious with a couple of moments of genuine scares.

Both guys thought they were making a great B-movie and instead delivered boring flicks.
