"So, I guess '2PAC RESURRECTION' wasn't artsy enough for PTP "
It was one of the best films of the decade and perhaps the most creative documentary film I've ever seen.
Of course, it cannot be to you all, because you don't get artistic brownie parts for saying that at your Latte parties.
"Helllooooo....omg I hear they are making an 'English Patient' sequelllllll....yes indeed...*sips Latte*.. ....yes, I hear it will have nods to Stanley Kubric's hairstyles and Hashimototmotomotomotomotomotot Kayazakiwanaizkaymoto's taste in pussy hair. Oh, and I juusssst saw '2PAC Resurrection' and felt it was RIVETTTTIIIINGGG."
Won't work for you guys, eh?
Also, 2Pac isn't cool to artsy fartsies anymore, because artsy academics almost single handedly destroyed his legacy with all these sissy ass courses.
I understand all of this, PTP. I do.
Here is your chance for redemption.
Repeat after me:
It is, without hesitation, one of the better movies of decade.
It is, perhaps, one most CREATIVE documentary films ever made.

little attention this gets from ppl in general.
How in the world could he narrate his own movie and talk abt his death before any of this occurred? How did he know his death would result from being shot? I've heard of ppl having premonitions abt their death but to do a movie talking abt your death before it happens is down right eerie to say the least.

Sometimes I feel like you take a position and say no one likes it and pretend that the entire board disagrees with you just so you can make these types of posts. And I'ma be the first to say, keep it up... cause shit's funny to me.

Look at how 90% of people lauded 'Moon' for god's sakes.
That movie was trash.
Movies like '2Pac Resurrection' -- completely ignored.
Unjustified. The film is fucking brilliant.
If it was about Kurt Kobain or some shit, half this board would've had a nuclear meltdown of Latte

I'm just saying you come outta left field with some of these sometimes. Like, it ain't like people were sittin' in here shittin' on RESURRECTION. But as I said.... don't stop. Shit don't make me mad.

I suggest you reread your post, you contradicted yourself in a big way.

I didn't/don't want it for my home collection, but I enjoy it when it's on TV as much as the first time I saw it in theaters. I'll always say I like his interviews more than I'll ever like his music.

Honestly, only a bunch of bohoes really think Mos Def is actually smart, but when you see this film you realize just HOW MUCH smarter Pac was than any rapper
But yeah, dude was more eloquent and introspective than anyone from his generation that was in the limelight
14. "great flick, Pac was a much more fascinating person/personality" In response to Reply # 0
than he was a rapper to me.
The opening scene where he's basically looking above, narrating his own death (saying 'they shot me, always knew they would' or words to that effect) was extremely powerful.
Overall it was a great doc, much better than the other Pac documentaries (Thug Angel or the Broomfield Biggie & Tupac joint) partly because of the access (to all the old MTV interviews he did plus early childhood photos/footage through Afeni) but also because of the approach & the way it was edited.
A few little things that either cracked me up or I just loved: any of the footage from when he was 17 or so doing an interview in that dance leotard.....the shit dude was saying is just on another level than a 17-year-old should be able to think on, the clip of Jada-Pac acting out 'Parents Just Dont Understand' onstage in high school or Pac busting that socially-concious rhyme at the graduation, looking at how bad Tabitha Soren wants to fuck Pac while she's interviewing him when they're out wandering around Venice, Shock G's wide-eyed recounting of Pac's statement at his court sentencing, the list goes on and on.

....around the time it dropped, we've been inundated with so much Pac material, including Pacumentaries from various sources; it got to the point where I wasn't interested because I thought it was just another Pacumentary done by someone who probably doesn't even listen to hip hop. Now that I'm reading that it's mostly in his own words; I'd give it a shot.
19. "THIS is the movie to show people that don't like Pac's music" In response to Reply # 0
after watching it you may still not like the music but I think you'll at least respect it a little bit.
That interview with him talking about singing his way into the hotel room with all the food and how the constant denial of entrance changed the tone of the song he was singing gives me goosebumps.
