"Gary Oldman says the next Batman starts shooting next year"

Apparently this was at Comic-Con

Info from a Twitter post (and a friend of mine who is there)

>Gary Oldman says they start shooting the next Batman next year and gets wild applause. He adds "but you didn't hear that from me"

They were like the low-point of the Batman comics in the last 20 years. Keep them the fuck away from any Batman movie.

sorry, didn't realize that if you posted in ptp you must automatically dislike the Azrael arc, or think Tarantino is a great director, etc etc. I think sometimes yall folks believe the more you type these things, the more true they become. Nah.

I think Nolan could pull it off impressively honestly, and it's a better idea than anything else proposed.

Because, for me at least, it started with a good premise that was REALLY poorly executed. In my opinion, Bane was (and still is) tolerable, but Azrael is extremely dull.

Bane especially.

After years of crime fighting, Batman catches that crucial ass-whooping by a fucked up body builder on roids.

Yeah, and let's get Henry Rollins for that one. Box office hit.

No way. Get the Penguin, Cat Woman, Riddler even Mr. Freeze. Anybody but Bane.

And Azriel, there's no need. The first two Batman movies were already about the line between fighting crime and being a criminal. Introducing Azriel would just be redundant. IMO.

Personally I think Catwoman would be the best choice.

Not sure her name was mentioned last go roud but since the scheduling conflict wouldn't allow her to be Black Widow, I hope Emily Blunt gets a shot at this if they do go that route.

The third one has to be about Batman, and not the
villain, because we barely saw Christian Bale in TDK
except when he was invading Asian countries by himself
(what a stupid ass scene, btw)

Introducing Azrael would introduce a different conflict

Maybe have him fight and kill Azrael at the end, which would
make for very compelling drama

No one would care

They basically perfected the insane killer

TDK has to take a different angle to be compelling

Lots of things are entertaining and visual spectacles.

Doesn't mean they are good or relevant to 'The Dark Knight'

That entire sequence was retarded and out of place

but i actually gave you props for pointing out many of the flaws in TDK in my original response. when i rewatched after you made that point last year about him invading china, by sky diving at that and than latching onto a moving plane, i almost fell out from the stupidity of it.i still like the film though

i agree with your Azreal point, but i want Depp to play the riddler in 3. Bane would be too campy

As overrated as TDK was, there cannot be a villain better
than the Joker.

Can't happen.

For them to move in the direction of *any* other *villain*
would be a huge mistake.

Make it about Azrael, a far more aggressive, more violent
version of Batman.

Have him fight and kill Azrael and introduce the following
conflict:

By killing Azrael, he actually makes the world better for
criminals, because Azrael scares the shit out of them and
has a lot of the crime game on lock

Problem, of course, with Azrael is that he doesn't really
fight crime the *right* way...he's full of pure vengeance
the way young Bruce was in 'Batman Begins'

It'd be the perfect way to cap off the trilogy by reintroducing
the philosophical conflicts about good and evil, and the price
you pay for a crimeless society

I didn't read the arc, but naming the film Knightfall would be nice. Although they need to change the story drastically, I would support this. As long it's 1-2 villains and not 4-5 villains, I'm OK for having Azrael as the next villain.

Batman shouldn't kill, but having Gothamites worship Azrael until he crosses the line and has to be brought in by Bats might be good.

Mr. Zsasz, Black Mask, Bane, and maybe Poison Ivy should be considered over Catwoman, The Riddler and The Penquin. I just can't see how they could fit this type of world created by Nolan and company....
