In my opinion, USA has been putting out solid original series.

Burn Notice, In Plain Sight, Law & Order Criminal Intent, and Royal Pains

All these series have been solid since their inception. My faves are Burn Notice and In Plain Sight.

Now this Royal Pains shit is pretty good. I caught that last night and really enjoyed it.

It did feel a little Burn notice - ish w/the voice over though.

Started with being a MOnk fan. Now Psych is my favorite. Its truly a "I Love the 80s and 90s" show disguised as a mystery series. Feeling Royal Pains so far and slowly getting interested in Burn Notice.

WHo is running ish over there and can they take over NBC?

but they did manage to completely destroy a very cool concept.

I had no idea L & O: Criminal Intent was a USA original series, I always thought it was on NBC.

It's a pitty, cuz the show had MASSIVE potential. They shoulda punted it to SciFi - they'd know how to handle it.

I do watch L&O: CI regularly, and I gave In Plain Sight a more than fair chance - most of the 1st season, but got bored with it. The writing isn't very good.

yes they really are...both networks you name are overrated right now...


i haven't been interested in ANY show on Showtime...other than Big Love and maybe Entourage, i'm not checkin for any HBO shows right now (FOTC IS gone right?)...F/X is just dope. i'll watch any shoew they make that doesn't start wit a "D".....AMC arguably has the two best shows on TV right now, which i love, but that type of show isn't USA goes for....TNT?? other than The Closer which can feel REALLY formulaic and dry sometimes, i'm not checkin for the other shows..

....they may be a bit inconsistent at times, but they've got a better line that most of the networks you mention INCLUDING HBO, only F/X and AMC truly have a "better" lineup....

but USA has the potential to be on par with F/X and AMC and the other "overrated" networks you say HBO and Showtime are (which is also, up for interpretation)

but, their shows are inconsistent. Royal Pains is too new to be considered on point, Burn Notice took a LONG time to settle into its tone and pacing...In Plain Sight is okay, but still not even close to being on part with other cable dramas (i.e. get rid of Jinx and the show would be decent)

and Psych and Monk...can't really balance the line between comedy and drama since both these shows are light dramedies (comedy/drama)

USA has good shows, but they aren't on part with the other cable networks that have cable shows on, etc.

sorry but USA is not bangin in the good scripted drama shows...they're WAY better than network shows, but not close to quality like HBO, Showtime, F/X and AMC....
