These guys (I'll leave you to decide which two I mean) slam everything by Tarantino or Judd Apatow and all related folks, and praise everything by Tyler Perry, Vin Diesel and Spike Lee. So when Tarantino or Apatow come out with a new movie, inevitably they will post about how much they hopes it bombs at the box office. And when Perry, Diesel or Lee come out with a new movie, and it happens to do well, expect an immediate post from Basaglia about how happy they are about it, and how disappointed everyone that likes Tarantino or Apatow is. Because you can't possibly be fans of some or all of them.
In every case, if you disagree with them, for any reason, it's because you're a mad gourmet coffee drinker.
That's the game.
Don't try to play the game with them, because with each post you'll actually sense your IQ slowly dropping. In the end you'll just have to give up because it's hard to sustain a debate where the other person keeps saying that you're mad, you're a dumbass, need to shut up, eat a dick, et al.
As for Vin...
I admit I'm kind of a passive fan. I think his movies (or at least the early ones, and especially his first big one, Pitch Black) are a fun throwback to the tough and gruff 80s hero. Only Vin's dialogue is so awkwardly executed that he comes off more like a nerd disguised as a body builder. It only added to my enjoyment when I learned that he's a devoted RPG addict. For me it's a huge retro thing because since around the mid 90s action flicks have in general switched to the reluctant hero or regular-loser-forced-to-save-the-day, which got old really quick. So going back to the days of the big hero snarling 'you should've taken the money...' before shooting the bad guy or blowing something up...it's a fine alternative.
Also, I didn't see it but a LOT of people dug the first Fast & Furious. From what I hear, it was all of the above, plus fast cars.
