""LOST" Spinoff: was Harrold Perrineau right? *SPOILERS*"

*Spoliers and general bad vibes below*
anyway, here's my topic. After last seasons' unceremonious exit for his character, Michael aka "Kevin Johnson", Harrold Perrineau made comments that the writers of the show were inadvertently using that good 'Cism in the handling of Black characters on the show. Now, I'm not one to cry foul unless absolutely neccessary ( and to be honest, I thought he was just upset because of diminished screen time on a hit show), but i'onno ya'll.
He implied that they reinforced negative stereotypes by making him a bad father, and ultimately abandoning his kid. He also alluded to the fact that Walt wound up 'another fatherless Black Child' or something like that...
Also, I hadn't really noticed it until I started reading some of the other posts, but DAYUM...
The Brown don't get to stick around.
Let's examine the evidence:
-Mr. Eko: Dead as he wanna be ( the most Docile character on the show died a HORRIBLE death) -Michael: assumed to be Dead as he wanna be -Matthew Abadon: Dead as he wanna be ( in ultra violent fashion, no less) -Walt: not dead, but basically left out of the cast/plot, after being a central character in S1 and S2
and I'm not sure but, didn't Sgt. Keamy have a Black soldier that bought the farm?
The fact she was a fictional character on a tv show factors into the hate, but in real life I'm not going to shed a tear for some mass murderer or racist clown who gets cancer.

I wouldn't call him docile, but if you believe what the producers said he only signed on for a certain number of episodes and he wanted to leave before they had initially planned to off him.

IMO his character was written poorly (the whole killing Libby and Ana Lucia plot was messed up), but again if you believe the producers the writers strike affected his storyline and he would have gone out better than he did. Plus, I read somewhere that he and Sun were supposed to get together but the writers decided to make Jin a good/better person so that storyline got dropped (there was a webisode where they almost kissed at one point).

I still say they could have made him older than 10-11 when it started and it might have worked so he could stay on the show.

Everybody in that group was a read shirt besides Keamy so I don't really count that.

You forgot the person who IMO was the finest female on the show, the chick who Locke stabbed from the freighter.

I think he had a parent pass away and wanted to move back to England? His death advanced the notion that the Monster "judged" people, but his Season 3 appearances were rather gruesome.

If that was the last we see of him, I'll be disappointed. But the only thing I remember Michael ever doing was killing those two women and running around the jungle screaming about Walt.

building the boat, twice the locke/michael standoff over walt was a big deal at the time
but I think the real problem is that almost nothing that happened in the first season has ever been explained, or even matters, so everything that went on with his character early on seems diminished looking back.

not to mention, his character was one of the first who truly found out about the power of the island ( when Tom explained to Michael that the island wouldn't let him die).
So for him to become so defeated and lame was a cop-out.

but the actor had issues with the crew and producers so he was killed off.
he was *allegedly* going to become another locke/destiny devotee, but more in tune with the island....
but yeah i figured walt being written out was more about rhe actor going through puberty and hitting way too many growth sperts between seasons. its only been 10 days and this kid had aged 5 years and grown a foot taller. sorry man.

I was like Damn John, couldn't you have just walked over and turn her phone off?
I was also a bit displeased with one of my favorite characters from the wire being reduced to driving miss daisy in the last episode. They built alot of intrigue around Abanddon to reduce his role and have him killed like that.
Love the show but they have a hard time with Black characters.
