"EW's New Classics: The 100 Best Flicks Since 1983"

Do The Right Thing is way too low, as is Full Metal Jacket.

...it shouldn't be above Do The Right Thing. No matter what your opinions on LOTR, Goodfellas, or any of the other flicks ranked above it, DTRT should easily be a Top 5 at bare minimum.

I've seen "Blue Velvet", but I didn't come to *that* realization until after I sat through "Mulholland Drive".

I was gonna netflix all of "Twin Peaks" to see what I'd missed ( I never watched it while it was on), but after seeing Mulholland Drive"? sheeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttt....

thanx cuz....thats usually my litmus test on what type of "movie person" somebody is..

"did you see Mulholland Dr? what did you think of it? Oh! you thought it was the best thing since pay-at-the-pump?" then i move along..

there are truly some folk that get it....I happen to be one of the ones that didnt...then there are those that want to get it to make them selves seem intelligent...miss me with that shit..

I will defend the intellectual merits of "Beat Street" all day long before I try to understand Mulholland Dr

I actually just meant for this to be discussion of the list as is... I figured I'd form an actual voting-type post in the coming days, once this list has settled in.

But you're on your game with the quickness of the list posting. Well done, lol.

Even something like Top Gun which helped launch Bruckheimer/Simpson probably belongs over a lot of these films.

It's just a laughable list.

Granted, lists are always lame but this one is just silly at times.

no way pulp fiction should be number one.

Matter of fact, The matrix is a better movie than anything on the list above it, but definitely not better than a lot of the shit after it

what was wrong with Blue Velvet's placement to you?

Too high I'm guessing but I don't know, that's a pretty fucking great and original film to me.

There's other far more egregious errors if I really looked through that list thoroughly.

I mean Titanic can eat a dick, Hannah & Her Sisters was a nice little movie but c'mon, Toy Story cute but hell no, Moulin Rogue FOH, Saving Private Ryan was a great opening battle scene but overall a bit overrated, and I've never really cared much about Lord Of The Rings but I understand they're well done.

I know that lists are just people's opinions but these three movies deserved a spot imo.

Where was City of God???????? Didnt see that anywhere on that list. And there was only like a handfull of flicks that deserved to be on there. I almost agree with Pulp Fiction being the number one spot, its in my top 5, but as #1, i dont know. But hey, everyone, and i mean everyone, is going to have their own opinions on a top 100 best films list.
