thought it was quite good.... but why do these shows always have to involve some big multinational organisation with creepy links to all the weird ish that happens...

still, fairly enjoyable.... like to see if this'll have steam... not sure about Pacey though.

it's basically jack bauer dropped into an x-files episode, which isn't really the worst thing that could ever happen, and it's not violently bad.

worth watching when it comes on TV

Plus I found it a little hard to take it seriously, because it felt SOOOO much like lost.

but I will give it a couple more eps. I think it could be good if they just tighten up a few things. The basic plot seems good.

But I was glad to see dude getting some work. I always felt like he was the better of the Dawson actors and I was disappointed to see he didn't really do much after the show.

Feeling a little cold. Characters aren't very strong, premise is nothing new, good visuals.

while watching with the SO, we were sitting there telling one another what was going to happen next; and who did what within the story.

despite this, the show was pretty good. i will continue to watch to see what they do next.

now go runtelldat, ho.

..."Boyfriend will be dead by the end. He said 'I love you' too soon. He's doomed."

Then, when they said there was a mole, instantly my girlfriend said, "It's Broyles." I said, "Nope. It's Boyfriend." I was right.

Aside from that, shit was dope. I loved the ending.

Or if I was one of the writers, I'd make a stupid "udderly ridiculous" cow reference. The dialogue was weak, the jokes poorly placed, the chyrons were just silly. The score was overdone and they are going to kill the Lost violin crescendo. Josh Jackson's character was maybe .5 dimensional at best.

I mean, that whole last half hour was nonsensical. The guy being in a random hospital, he's in the same place with the Steig guy, the main girl watching the guy die and wanting to know more but forgetting that the scientist said they could talk to people for six hours after death.

It definitely played like the writers of Transformers trying to make Lost meets X-Files.

EDIT: Actually, it felt like Garth Marenghi wrote a version of the X-Files.

future episodes could be better, or they could be worse

it kinda depends if the creators watch the pilot and say "hmm, these bits are kind of ridiculous"

or if they think it was awesome and head down the bad path

It got better as it went along, and the presence of the wacky scientist guy seemed to help counteract the silly-in-its-over-seriousness tone... But MAN, what a cheeseball show!

Is JJ Abrams intentionally trying to pay homage to silly sci-fi b-movies? Did Fox come to him and say, "We want something like Lost, only stupider?" This shit was almost 'Heroes' bad.

That said, there was still *just* enough entertainment value that I might stick around for a couple eps and see what happens. I still can't quite figure out how sincere this show is trying to be, so maybe the hamfistedness and ridiculously convenient plot holes are supposed to be part of the 'charm'.

Dad: "It isn't an exact science."
Josh: "That's because it isn't science."

I think they're not gonna play the "all this shit could happen in real life" card. But they will play the unbelievable things with a straight face, just like X-Files/Lost/etc.

Once they had the passenger jet that lands itself, the whiz kid who owes money to a loan shark so he goes to IRAQ, and basically every b-list plot device known to a Seagal/Madsen action movie, I was happy when they got to the stuff that was supposed to seem implausible.

And nevermind that the main girl KNEW they could interview people 6 hours after death and did nothing about it.

People compare it to Lost and X-Files when it's really more of a Friday The 13th: The Series with a 10 million dollar budget.

What little of it there was.

Plus the characters lacked anything resembling depth or motivation. I think the cow gave the most convincing performance of the night.

Whether I'm laughing at this show or with it (it's laughing at me?), the important thing is I'm laughing. Plus I like how the show numbed my brain a bit so I could manage to sit through 'Hole in the Wall'. I'll be there next week.

what he really wanted the show to be. He said that the following episodes are more like the actual show: more episodic, more focused on relationship between characters, etc.

Although all that being said, the show was immediately deleted from my DVR to do list. I doubt I'll watch.

It was slightly predictable.

It was your average episode of X-Files with a outrageous mythology that also hard to believe.

Anna Torv character did not intrigue me. NOT AT ALL. I actually wanted her to die, where Abrams would turn this around and surprise us. It's like when Jack was suppose to die on the pilot of Lost.

Joshua Jackson character was somewhat interesting. His dad, played by John Noble, was refreshing as the show was progressing.

The minor characters where cool.

As for the story, it was really hard to like it. But I guess I'll still watch it, I feel like this is going to turn into Heroes. I'll be disappointed when all is said and done.

super satellite tracker + eyeball-bridge angle-figure-outer program would be a key to a problem they'll spend half an episode looking for a wacky way to solve.

fuck that, keep that satellite and super picture triangulator warm.

i don't have a problem with any of the out there shit, but make your investigation of it plausible even if your methods involve jars from the lab.

wouldn't it kind of revolutionize police work? I mean, wouldn't this case be one of the biggest new stories of the decade?

I broke down and watched the second ep. I liked the Dad (especially his dialogue with Pacey) but it's one of those shows that seems like 40 minutes of filler and then in the last four minutes they come up with some wacky way to catch the killer.

There was actually an interesting story there (the guy needs to kill 12 people in order to stop his pituitary glands for the next five years or however long it was between the last killings) but the execution of the idea was poor.

It's off the DVR.

Not only is this man just parading around willy nilly fresh out of a mental hospital, he also specialized in a kabillion different fields of "science", on top of the 'hidden' cars he has spread around the city, which he brought on a government salary. Plus he worked for government on a secret project, yet his labs were on a college campus? I'm not feeling the dad at all, seems like he's going to be some sorta fall back guy for whenever there's a scientific problem they can't solve. I mean Imma still watch, but still.
