Just like with Swordfish & The Punisher, John Travolta plays the Velveeta villain again. He has a lot of fun saying mother fucker but I need more than that from an antagonist.
Chubzel Washington & Mayor Soprano phone in their performances since the script is shit & gives them nothing to latch on to.
Luis Guzman looks just like 1 of the accomplices from the 74 version but brings nothing else to the table other than that. It's like he got cast for that reason & that reason alone & they just told him to stand there & look how Hector Elizondo looked in the original.
The only thing better about the remake is the technology but even that's laughable in the manner its used on the train. It's like the Austin Power henchmen were on guard here. The police cars & bikes "chase" scenes were pretty sloppy as well & the ending is nothing like the orginal & pretty run of the mill. As far as a Tony Scott vehicle this is more Domino than De ja Vu.
You've all been warned. But if you do see it, hopefully you'll get more out of it than I did.

EDIT (& maybe spoilerish): Prepared to be pissed how they do Chris

I personally loved Man On Fire and liked DeJa Vu a lot so I was hype to see another T.Scott/Denzel project, but Travolta? All the great fucking actors out there you can't do better then Travolta to play some bald headed villain... Then I saw the previews where I realized I DEFINITELY can't buy Travolta as a villain
