saw it tonight at a free screening. the writer/director/whatever is trying WAAAAAAY too hard to recreate Training Day w/out straight remaking it. i mean i know some people have a 'style' but c'mon.
i'm not gonna go out and just say "damn this was awful" cuz it was actually fairly entertaining but it was very slick, very hollywood (all kinds of weird people (dude that plays House) in small or 'cameo' roles).
audiences laugh everytime keanu has a line...how can the people directing the movie NOT? he (and to a lesser extend the movie itself) actually reminded me of steven segal in his heyday. where you knew there was gonna be some corny lines but it was kind of tongue-in-cheek so it was okay. they even managed to make a great actor like Forrest Whitaker look sort of like a goofy caricature of what his role was probably SUPPOSED to be.
that said...i still give it like a 6/10. it had some comedy and it was watchable. super violent too.

this movie was awful 4 or 5/10
bad training day rehash and training day wasn't all that great either.
keanu surviving all those senarios in the last 25 minutes of the film is silly and stupid. i agree with the post sentiments about whitaker as well. it takes a lot to make a great actor like whitaker look bafoon-ish

You know you've done the right thing by lowering expectations down to the LCD
One of the better, predictable bad movies I've seen in awhile tho. Forrest wasn't just chewin the scenery he was inhaling it. Chris Evans needed more screen time as he was by far the best thing it had goin for it. The first half was better than the last 1/2 of Harsh Times & Training Day for whatever that's worth.
