I've got some impressive crates, but that's comes with 16-17 years of digging.

Clearwater (over the bridge) had a couple dope spots that both closed down years ago.

Vinyl Fever USED to be my spot, but like any other spot, they turned into a mostly music-and-dvd spot, but with a twist of novelty, i.e. incense, t-shirts, toys, magazines, new and used vinyl, DJ equipment. It's my store of choice for cd's tho. Old records are once in a great blue moon.

Ditto on Sound Exchange, which was meh for digging in the 90's, but as Vinyl Fever decreased it's beat-potency, Sound Exchange upped it's game a little bit. Over a period of 6 months, I cleaned them out tho.

Bananas in St. Pete is a 2 story record wharehouse. They're PRIME, but you need to know what your looking for, 'cause it's not like a story, it's more a library, with aisles and aisles of records lined-up.

The thing with Bananas is that they cater to record collectors and also have a fairly lucrative ebay auction business (which is dope, 'cause pre-ebay, they were really struggling). They check prices on records, so you can find some private press Jazz record, but your going to pay $35 for it. They're not stupid.

Alot of times they check price guides AND punch in the record in ebay to see what someone else would be selling it for. They give you a deal, but still.

I went there about 8 months ago and found this ILL private press Jazz lp (I forget the name), it was SERIOUS, but when he punched it up on the internet...shit was going for like $400-$700 dollars on record auctions. He was going to charge me $90 for it, which considering, was a great deal...but still, $90 is alot. Also a brazilian jazz record that was dope, but it was like $65.

Part of the high of digging is finding gems for like $2.99. At Bananas, you DO get the creme dela creme, but you pay what it's worth.

this review from allmovie doesn't sound boring though:

Werckmeister Harmonies is a work of staggering depth and technical accomplishment. Shot in stark black-and-white and consisting of only 39 shots (the film is 145 minutes long), Tarr's camera swoops and lingers, revealing layer upon layer of nuances and subtleties. In one ten-minute shot, which rivals anything in Orson Welles oeuvre, the camera swirls around a square full of hung-over rioters as Jancos, walking off and then reappearing in the frame, makes his way to the trailer that houses the whale. In terms of camera movement, choreography, and cinematography, this shot, one among dozens, is a feat of sheer cinematic bravado. The film's photography seems to uncover ever-deeper shades of black, creating a haunting atmosphere that deftly informs Tarr's mysterious, transcendent narrative. Wide-eyed in wonder or brows furrowed in fear, Lars Rudolph as Jancos -- who looks like a fusion of Klaus Kinski and Steve Zahn -- plays the holy fool to perfection. Returning to the silver screen after a nine-year absence, Hanna Schygulla -- perhaps best known for her role in The Marriage of Maria Braun as a Teutonic temptress -- here brilliantly morphs into a Machiavellian Magyar matron. Beautiful, slow, and absorbing, Werckmeister Harmonies is a masterpiece by one of world cinema's greatest directors.

But there's a three-titted woman, a little guy who lives in a normal-size guy's stomach, and a midget hooker. Plus, it takes place on Mars.
There aren't any jetpacks until the third one (Werckmeister Harmonies 3: Werckin Detroit-Style), but that one really sucked.
