"Actors who've given great performances in at least three diff. decades."

That's simple enough, right?

I'll start with the man who inspired this post:
Ray Liotta in: 80s - Something Wild / 90s - Goodfellas / 00's - Narc

So, name the actor / actress and their great performances that have spanned at least three different decades. Also, if they've done it in four, five, or even six (??) different decades, put those down too.

>America)

So, you give him the over-acting in Scent of a Woman but not in Scarface? See, the coked-out, operatic performance he gave as Tony Montana, when his vision is on the whole world and so his energy must be just as large, makes sense there. In just about every other movie with Pacino that I've seen (The Godfather and Carlito's Way excluded, and maybe Donnie Brasco), his acting calls way too much attention to itself. With Montana, it calls attention to only the extreme mania of the character, and that serves the story in a way a more subdued performance would not.

That flick is well-acted around (yes, including by Chris O'Donnell) and well- written in a script that is chock full of memorable moments and quotable lines. And Pacino is the one who makes the whole thing turn. Frank is a large character too, and merits the shouting. He's a lieutenant colonel, it's in his blood.

The one thing I will say is the film is too long. But Martin Brest stopped caring about editing somewhere around that time in his career (see: Meet Joe Black, Gigli).

And as far as Scarface? You could give him that one too. It is a hell of a performance.

Really talented. His 2046 performance came up short on a tie w/ his in ITMFL in my book.

Maggie Cheung got Centre Stage in the 90s and ITMFL in the 00s, but I haven't seen a great peformance from her in the 80s yet. Need to see more of her 80s work. You got any recommendations? She was good in As Tears Go By, but I don't think it's a great one as of now.

But since it's the same character, it don't really matter.

Yeah, Maggie Cheung is awesome. One of my favourite actresses ever. I really liked her in Clean (2004) too, she killed that role.

Haven't seen too many of her 80s joints though. I mean, she got Police Story, but that's more Jackie Chan's show. How about Days of Being Wild (RIP Leslie)? I can't remember what year that is, I think it might actually be 90s, but I'm not too sure.

I'm biased here cause I'm a john woo head but

80's The Killer/A Better Tomorrow
90's Hard Boiled/The Corrupter
00's Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

I know I'm forgetting a bunch of his hong kong non english movies. I have some I just have not gotten around to watching them.

<---- Boho model madness can not be stopped.
