Not that that's a bad thing since it is getting some terrible reviews. Might have to just throw this one on the ol' Netflix queue and stay away from the theaters yet again this weekend.
i have to say that i was surprised. it was better than i expected. the chic who played the love interest was extra dry and sam jackson needs to stop messing with storm's hairdresser, but otherwise i was thoroughly entertained.

without giving any of it away, the plotholes were gaping. Each attempt to patch up one of the holes in the plot drove the movie even further from the point.

It made a million more than Fool's Gold made on it's opening Friday. I'm not sure that that will be enough for anything more than a straight-to-dvd sequel unless the film somehow doesn't drop 55% in its second weekend.
I felt like they could have done more with the mom and her involvement. Was she strictly breeding them? and the teenage daughter? Never explained if the two boys were siblings. Was Sam jack actually working for the NSA.
Loved the fight seen between Jamie and Hayden.....and Sam almost being taken down by a bus. Cool.

To me this movie was like a really good pilot to a tv show. I was interested in the jumping and the history of jumpers. It would be so easy to turn this movie into a really interesting tv show. You can explore the history of the war of the paladins and jumpers. You could even have the main character of the tv show take on people who use their jumping abilities for evil.
The movie itself was okay, I was left hoping their was a sequel or that the movie itself was longer.

It's a pretty cool story with the ability to be the next Matrix or something in my opinion. If you get rid of the love plotline and spend more time developing the other story, setting up the war, and describing in more depth how jumping is done and the history of it, this movie coulda been real dope. I just saw it cause I always wished I could teleport (don't we all?) and this movie did satisfy me with some cool scenes, but it really could've been done better. Just imagine if they weren't trying to dumb it down.
Give this story to the Wachowski brothers, make it R, and don't dumb it down and it'd be dope as shit.

the story definitely needed more substance. I liked the premise of the movie simply because I always felt that teleportation is probably the best power ever, that alone kept my interest. Otherwise the movie doesn't do well to wrap up alot of minor but signficant issues IMO. Then the main character David I just find annoying because of how stupid he is.

1. Running to the girl he loved after he realizes people are tracking him. 2. Not telling her shit the whole movie (until the epilogue I suppose) 3. Teleporting and leaving the bully in a bank. 4. teleporting the girl straight to the other jumper's lair
there are so many others but those are the ones thatwere most prevalent to me.

And why did he leave that Italian detective handcuffed to a chair in the middle of nowhere, he ain't do nothing wrong? He kept tryin' to prove he wasn't gonna go bad, but after that and the bank robberies, he wasn't exactly a saint. Speaking of banks, why did he leave IOUs, how was he gonna pay them back and his only source of income was robbing banks?!
Griffin was that dude tho'! Throwin' that bus at them and that "jump punch" he laid on Roland were highlights for me.

At the show i attended the theater was full of kids. Glad they enjoyed it. As for myself this was a bore, grade D. It is only slightly better than Hayden's last effort, Awake.
this shit for what it's worth was decent. Could've done with more exposition on what the power is/how it works, and a little more back story on who the paladins were, but for the most part, decent flick...
Hayden should jump into his own ass in hopefuly implode....he was BY FAR the worst aspect of the movie. God, I hate him.

From the opening monologue which killed an excitement, this film was just dull to me. If you're going to rip off a superpower you better come with something good and nothing in this film beat the opening scene of X2, IMO.
There's a good movie in there but this just didn't deliver.

He was perfect for that role. I think he is very Keanu-ish in that he can be great in the right role but if you force him to extend his range, it's not going to work out.
