I didn't love it. I chuckled a few times but never really got into it.

we see action movie parodies all the time...none of it felt very fresh.

and Shawn of the Dead is actually a good movie beyond just being a parody...the story in Hot Fuzz was pointless. i only chuckled a couple times.

i didn't *hate* it...it was just instantly forgettable

the 'Starsky and Hutch' movie, 'Team America: World Police', 'Naked Gun' to a certain extent, the 'Sabatoge' video by the beastie boys, a shit ton of skits on MadTV and SNL...

i dunno, i just don't think completely copying a shot from an existing movie is funny. like, i get that the revolving camera shot is a Michael Bay trademark, but is recreating that shot really funny? or staging a shoot-out with old people...it just didn't work for me.

I was really enjoying the movie, and once it took that turn I loved it. Really one of my favorite movies I've seen in the past year or so.

I loved it, thought it was excellent. I was cracking up, but this movie also had some great action. The best part was easily the church tower falling down on Messenger.
