Worst thing you can do is make a D&D movie too serious. This at least feels like a D&D quest and has some irreverent spirit, the way characters do when you're sitting around a table. So they've dodged the biggest pitfall imo.

My brother in the last 7-8 years became a D&D head, and got two cats on my staff at work that are huge D&D people. Twitch streams doing big numbers. Wizards of the Coast made Hasbro a billion dollars last year, so the potential to make some money back.
