If that was the season when will died, then yeah. That season really was the end. I tried this season, but my head started to hurt trying to figure out WTF was going on. ---------------------------- Same as it ever was!
Basically, they wanted Alicia to break bad and become the victimizer so she could do a 180 from the pilot. I felt like you could see them going this direction when Alicia was running for office but it always felt off and her change didn't feel legit. I think a big issue was it often felt like Alicia was allowing herself to be led into the wrong directions and didn't really take ownership of her turn. Also, a lot of it just didn't make much sense.
The writers simply like Alicia too much to make her an active villain so she just ended up following bad advice for 2.5 seasons which weakened her character.
It's a shame that the show went out with a whimper after being so good but, alas, that's the way of most shows.
