"Bad Boys 1 >>>>>> Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"
Oh, and it was better than any of the Lethal Weapons too.
Prolly the best stand alone buddy movie ever.
And don't bring that weak 'Tango and Cash' bullshit up in this piece, god, because I'll put it in the bleachers and wave my Mutumbo Finger up in hurr
But yeah:
a) Serious crime shit, but still had humorous balance that keeps it light. To be quite honest, Lethal Weapons got little niglets getting killed and all that. FOH, I'm trying to relax, eat Honey Bunches of Oats and calm after work. I'm not tryna be all sad and shit. That little niglet getting killed? Nigga this ain't 'The Wire'. FOH.
b) Cry all you want: Will and Martin's charisma and chemistry(no homo) >>>>>>>>> Just about anyone else's.
Cry.
c) Cinematography: You laugh at that glossy shit all you want, it WORKED in Bad Boys for the Miami setting. Hell, they even had Tea Leona looking attractive. That should have gotten it an academy for special effects off jump

I just find it hard to compare Bad Boys to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I think both of them are good movies and although they are both "buddy" movies, in my opinion it isn't an "apples to apples" comparison.

I thought Riggs was a deeper character and the dialogue was better in Lethal Weapon. Bad Boys is up there in the buddy cop genre (and was funnier) but I'll take Lethal Weapon over it.

I thought it was a near perfect balance. They took it to the edge but didn't go so far that it became alienating. Also, I thought it really played into the story. It wasn't just having a dark character for the sake of being dark or because they needed some character beats.
As for Butch and Sundance, it's almost impossible to judge. By the time I saw it, so much of the stuff that made it famous had been copied and/or parodied. Some classic scenes but I don't feel like it aged as well as a lot of other films from that era.
it is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. - sherlock holmes

I will not disagree.
>a) Serious crime shit, but still had humorous balance that >keeps it light.
This is true of both movies. Please tell me how one is better than the other.
> >b) Cry all you want: Will and Martin's charisma and >chemistry(no homo) >>>>>>>>> Just about anyone else's. >
Does this "anyone else" include Newman/Redford? If yes, do you prefer their chemistry in "The Sting"? If no, why not? How do you rank Smith/Lawrence next to Newman/Redford and why?
>c) Cinematography: You laugh at that glossy shit all you >want, it WORKED in Bad Boys for the Miami setting. Hell, they >even had Tea Leona looking attractive. That should have >gotten >it an academy for special effects off jump
I enjoy both.
Again... please tell me why one is better than the other.
Otherwise, turn this into a "Bad Boys is a great movie" post, and I will then join you.

2 is the best worst movie EVER. It's bad as movie but is entertaining as fuck with a gang of action and laughs. It's one of few times Martin has made me REALLY laugh in the 00s.
