It’s listed as Busta & Dilla, and the credits that are up say Dilla produced it.

J Scienide posted on IG that the 3rd beat is Kev Brown, and the second is either Nottz or Black Milk.(sounds more like Black Milk to me? And Busta has worked with Nottz many times, I’m sure he’d get credited). Busta says Kev Brown’s name at the end.

J Rawls said “let’s go!” and tagged Kev Brown. Kev Brown said “let’s go where? I never got paid.”

I already made a post about it, but Von Pea - Loner. Dropped on Tuesday, I’m really enjoying it and that’s what I’m on right now, as far as newly released music.

All of these, I am interested in listening to at some point. It could in an hour, a month, or I might forget and it never happens. But they’re on my radar. I’ve never heard of Jungle, but the strong support of it here has me intrigued. I have trouble with Musalini, but 9th and Khrysis both seem to give him some heat, so I’m interested. October London has made some music I’ve enjoyed. Paul Wall did that fire song with Paul Silas recently - “Get Like You”. One of my favorites of the summer, so I’ll check his out. Hit-Boy….i probably need to see the features.

Man, Jungle is so good at creating grooves and vibes. This album is quite good. Been playing the heck out of this one.

Once I’ve worn this one out, I’ll have to listen to their older albums.

it came out not long after Jessie Ware's first disco-ish album which just felt like the all the musical stars had aligned.

(considering that was 2020/2021, that's a feat)

edit: loving in stereo came out a year after Ware's album... but they FELT like they were released at the same time, lol. God, that period is so weird in memory. Pretty great music years, though!

Haven't gotten to listen yet, but I'm a big fan of Ransom, so hoping it's dope.

If you're a fan of BARS and not familiar with Ransom, get familiar.

And that's saying a lot, because the production, while not BAD by any means, isn't as good as it could be.

However, Ransom, who is hands down the best rapper right now when it comes to bars/punchlines/wordplay/etc in my opinion, is so good at that shit that just his lyrics can carry a weaker beat.

Also, at 46 years old, he's rapping for the the heads who've lived life and seen some shit, which fits most of the people on these boards, lol.

If I had to give mics out, I'd do like this:

Production: 3.5 mics
Lyrics: 5 mics (I mean, it should be more like 6 but...)

i gotta listen to this at least 10x just to catch most of the good lines.

Wish that one wasn’t over a drumless Craven track though. Wanted that one over something that knocks.

jimmy jam/terry lewis helped switch things up on Sault's Chapter 1 a bit, to good effect. something similar could go a long way for her.

i dunno. everyone is like "this is healing music" and i like music that heals but i guess i just heal differently, LOL.

there was a couple songs on here that i REALLY liked. it's by no means bad of course, and the Cleo Sol FANS will probably eat it up, but for me it's just felt kind of cookie cutter and lacking spirit or something.

i'll probably give it one more run through to see if i missed it the first time, and if it doesn't grab me, i'll delete from my library.

I like them (both Sault and Cleo) a lot, but I get the impression they're a crew that drinks their own kool-aid too much.

Which is ironic, because Sault started as something of an unknown collective, and you still get folks moving through the rotation on the albums. I think that's probably why they haven't gone stale yet, as an outfit: there's some new blood and ideas that shows up there.

But on the Cleo Sol albums, they feel much more insular. And it's sad in a way: you limit yourself as an artist, in a way, if you stick yourself with just one person as your producer, your instrumentalist, your co-writer, etc. In this case, you wind up with kind of a snoozefest of an album.

I'd love to hear her go into the studio with, I don't know, Isaiah Sharkey -- someone who isn't necessarily totally different in style, but will bring a different sound and perspective.

"b." - on my second listen. I'm already a fan, so I'm predisposed to the kool-aid. this one's got more gospel (updated versions of Personal Jesus and Jesus Freak), and ridiculous vocals. In a way, I'm kind of glad he's slowed down his releases a bit (a handful of singles in 2026), and I was wondering what the next album would sound like in a post-Durand world (not to compare the two, but that's the nature of music).

I happen to love the insular world B has created for himself and his personas, and his dramatic flairs, etc, but I know it's definitely not for everyone, so I'm not sure this will grow the audience any (altho it may recapture a few of the To**x heads' playlists).

I still want him to hand over his production to someone who will go subtle, let the voice do the work, and bring some solid songs (covers? don't know) his way, at least for a project or two. That said, if he's cool with simply making more "B.Slade^tm" music, he'll always have my coins...

Busta sounds good and the beats are pretty dope. I liked the last few tracks quite a bit. Overall probably not something I come back to much but maybe it grows on me.

Surprise drop for his 40th birthday, after getting called out by a fan on Facebook for not dropping (dunno if that was a publicity thing or not, don't care).

This shit is FIRE. This is easily his best project since Ghetto Lenny's Love Songs, which is a classic album to me.

Apparently Mahershala Ali (yep, the actor) released a project where he produced all the beats. A rappper named Radamiz is on the EP. It's titled Bottom of Heaven. I'm just learning about the project now and have no clue who the rapper is.

Sort of like Rick Ross'.

You know what you're gonna get but its well done - very well produced with solid rapping and good guest appearances.

That is definitely the highlight for me. Cool and Dre seem to go all out for Joe. That hook is incredible.

That said, I couldn’t help but think “I wish this was Nas’ song”.

I like the songs with Stove God Cooks but…..let him rap! He’s getting these higher profile placements as a hook guy, but he can really rap - give him a verse!

I mostly agree on the ones that I listened to: Badu and Alabama Shakes are great, and Dillagence 2 is good. And the Fat Joe, I probably won’t listen to the whole album again but there’s 3-4 songs I’ll throw in a playlist.

I’ve been heavily listening to Badu and Alabama Shakes - I think these albums will be mainstays in my rotation for awhile.
