I'm not a huge Aesop fan, mainly bc of the voice. And sometimes that hyper-dense lyrical style is just not what I'm looking for. He's one that I have mad respect for but am rarely looking to put on myself.
But everything is hitting just right on this one, beats, flow, everything.
John Something and Snail Zero both had me glued to my headphones.
And this is continuing a really good streak, last several albums have been fire.
My only complaint is that he seems incapable of making a record less than an hour long these days, and I find, for his style and my ears, that's just too much.
Also, SO HAPPY to have a second track w/Lupe and Aes together. Hope they keep doing collabs. Reminder that this exists:

Like, legit question is anyone better? I mean Ricky is about to drop for the first time in 25 years so I’m sure he’ll have something to say about that — but besides the storytelling GOAT, I really don’t know who’s fucking with Aesop these days And it’s not like this was a calling card of his early on - it’s a skill he’s developed. And I love it for him A because he’s just so good at the craft of rapping and B as funk mentioned, his lyrics are so dense, the narrative really helps keep the interest up. I think Blood Sandwich was the first one that made me sit up and say OK…

Integrated Tech or Spirit World They both had a couple standout tracks, but nothing grabbed me about the overall effort. It might be more production based than rapping based? IDK That’s kinda why this one made me take notice - it t just really hit a Sweet spot for me that I hadn’t Been feeling since Impossible Kid
