around the world pre internet. Folks stationed all over the world interacting with the locals around the base passing mix tapes around and stuff. Do you think that their interaction with the locals at foreign bases helped hip hop grow? What you think?

where hip-hop blew up. I understand that we do have military bases there, but there were people comfortably traveling between the US and UK by the time hip-hop became a thing. It seemed as though the UK music scene was already big when hip-hop started making waves commercially.
