Didn't know this was a wrap.
I haven't checked as much over the last two years or so, esp. as they stepped further outside music.
(Not bc they should have been siloed to music only, but bc the other stuff rarely interested me, and the interviews weren't as engaging.)
Even when they were interviewing musicians that they were clearly less knowledgeable about or interested in... It showed.
BUT the service this show provided in long, deep dives with legends easily overlooked by other outlets was priceless. I've been going back to older eps recently, and I'm wondering how they convinced some of these folks to sit for HOURS, lol
Need some sort of Top X list of best moments, best interviews.

Hate to see it go because it’s been so great and consistent for so long. But I understand the reasons.
I learned a lot about music, and grew to enjoy everybody on there for what they brought. Phonte asking the most Lesson type questions was always the highlight, and Desus and Mero was the best episode lol.
?uest and Phonte asking music nerd questions to some of the best artists to ever live….it was like a dream scenario for those who ever frequented this place.

Listening to this reunion episode made me realise this podcast started a year after I graduated and started work (I'm a younger head on this site). Really made me think what has changed for me and within music over that period.
When QLS first came out the generous member ChampD on here was sending the files to people who couldn't access it outside the US! Thank you to helping all the overseas listeners out in those early days.
They have ended it at the right time - over the last year the quality had dipped a little, and I became more selective on episodes from people I knew of to listen to. The Pandora format allowing music to be played was better too, so the listener could immediately hear the music references. Lockdown also didn't help, as the roll call couldn't happen on an online call!
But aside from that it is ny favourite podcast, and will come back to list my top moments/episodes. First thing that comes to mind is the Pete Rock ep with his crazy 'Bitch you guessed it!' answers

so many great episodes, sad to see it go. i guess we'll never hear the chappelle episode? it would have been cool to hear them interview anderson paak like laiya was saying.
“So back we go to these questions — friendship, character… ethics.”
