"Poll question: Wu Tang's Sharpest Blade, which album??? "

Show your work folks! Vote AND explain. When these two classic albums are discussed, I hear so much noise about SC being this and this like this nigga didn't just do Ironman four years prior. I got thoughts upon thoughts but I'll wait to see others ring in.

15. "All That I Got Is You" (featuring Mary J. Blige)

Like, I lose any type of rational thought.
I have NO idea what dude is talking about,
but it works better than anything he's ever done.

Outside of Triumph, Nutmeg is the best start to a Wu-Tang album in my opinion.
Even better than Liquid Swords (which...fuck, I love).

I can pick and choose joints on Ironman I love.
Some of those moments are higher than SC.

But the better overall album? Production? Shoot, even the skits?
SC every time.

I also want to take this time to highlight
GZA snapped on Wu Banga 101.

Do you mean Reunited? Triumph starts disc 2 after RZA's 4 minute diatribe..

I was referencing the albums themselves.

I stand corrected. But you have to understand, in 1997, when Wu-Tang Forever came out,
as far as I was concerned, disc 2 WAS the start of the album for me...ha.

Put aside all the stuff we have learned since, Ghost being diagnosed with diabetes, shootout with the Delfonics and just deal with the music.

Two classic spectacular joints but Ironman is the superior album.

Production - From beginning to end, the songs have stronger beats. Ghost is rapping his ass off in SC so he doesn't rely on them, but from Iron Maiden through After the Smoke is Clear, there's barely any let up, MAYBE just Faster Blade. Mid 90s RZA was unfuckwittable, the beats are more developed and complete. And True Master BODIED Fish.

Range - on IM Ghost has heartbreak, romance, family struggles, and the street and rap life. SC he talks his shit and is putting phrases together but doesn't show the same variation.

Rapping - Just about every verse spit on IM is focused, with everyone bringing their best and riding those fucking beats. SC, some of Ghost's affiliates are underwhelming and Cappa ughhhh.

Skits/filler - Minimal on IM, on SC they are mainly stupid and time wasters. Who Would You Fuck was about the only one worth listening to.

Performances - Rae and Ghost never lose, Reggie BODED Buck 50, and niggas snapped on Wu Banga 101. U-God's Winter Warz and BLACK JESUS are superior to Cherchez, though it was more the songs and nothing he did wrong. SC has the one thing that IM didn't the Genius. HOWEVER, Cappafucking donna is so disappointing on SC. Reggie HAD to kill it because Cappa was so lackluster in Buck 50, one of my favorite Ghost songs, period. In contrast, he rips it in Iron Maiden, WINTER WARZZZZZ, Fish, Camay, Daytona. Like there is no single album, his included, where he's rapping BETTER than he did on Ironman. OB4CL was his debut, IM was his showing the fuck out and the reason he was able to release the Pillage soon after.

You can even look at when they came out in relation to what Wu was doing in general. Many look at SC as a return to form, when in retrospect, it was a close to their era of can't miss, with no album, group or solo, ever again reaching the level of SC. IM was in the midst of their peak, with all the hunger, passion, and energy.

I'm hard pressed to find a beat that doesn't bang on that album and every verse was delivered with heat.

I think the knock on Ironman, and by knock I mean, why it’s not as good as Liquid Swords or Cuban Linx is the cohesiveness and sequencing. It’s doesn’t quite smack you in the face as hard as the other two.

Wildflower at number 2 is odd sequencing

Raekwon solo at number 3 is odd sequencing

Then Assassination Day doesn’t even have Ghost on it.

Winter Wars and Motherless Child are both all-time classic but we already had them on Don’t Be A Menace and Sunset Park

Cappa's verse was sooooo doo doo tho. IM Cappa v. SC Cappa alone makes it an easy decision.
