Beach House released four songs from a forthcoming album, "Once Twice Melody"
Aesop Rock and Blockhead - Garbology
Irreversible Entanglements - Open the Gates (follow up to last year's well-loved Who Sent You?)
And in my slightly weirdo pick for the week, Rosie Lowe and Duval Timothy have an EP of stuff that is pretty unclassifiable and is kind of blowing my mind. Heavy on layered vocals but often working through sounds/syllables rather than words (i.e. vocalise) in a sort of minimalist style. The EP is called "Son" and here is the title track:
What's everyone looking for? Catching up on? I need to go back and share some stuff from the last few weeks, I feel like there's been *a lot* of great stuff flying under the radar.

Interrupting new release day to do some catch-up and HOLY SHIT, I knew this was going to be good but didn't know it was *that* good.
This is like SAULT's grittier, more improvisational, more jazz-inflected, noisier sibling, if that makes any sense at all. This is going to take some time to sink in but this isn't going anywhere for a while.
Also a reminder that Angel Bat Dawid just put something out last month, haven't checked that yet either.
Ok, on to this new Irreversible Entanglements...
edit: Irreversible can wait, let me hit repeat on this album one time...

The Phonte feature(and arguably verse of the year) is what made me aware of it, but that whole Interludes EP he put out was excellent. Will check for this.

Nice EP, most of these had been released over the last year or so but nice to have them as a set. Her name was new to me until pretty recently but apparently she's been around for a while?

Nice and tight dance-oriented set, about half instrumental and half with vocals. Pretty diverse in styles; I'm terrible with dance/electronic genres so I'll just share a track I liked, lol:
