"All Natural's 50 Years can go toe to toe with Pete & CL's "T.R.O.Y""
The beats are a pretty much a wash. 50 Years is the better written song. CL was kinda rambling. T.R.O.Y has the better hook and an amazing intro. I think the songs are mainly separated by hype.
I'm not a big fan of "T.R.O.Y." maybe cause I knew the sample as soon as I heard the song, but feel it's been played to death at this point; as far as All Natural's "50 Years", yeah the beat is dope but Capitol D is nowhere a better rapper than C.L. lyrically or vocally; also "T.R.O.Y." basically one of those songs that "kind of" set a trend in hip-hop (a rap song dedicated to a dead friend in a positive way); just like Common's "I Use To Love H.E.R." (rap song dedicated to hip-hop), or MC Shan's "The Bridge" (a rap song dedicated to their city/town/borough), or Run DMC's "My Adidas" (rap song about their shoes), etc.
