It's a fantastic song. "Lonely" followed by "Come Back to Me" is a heavyweight 1-2 punch.

I rediscovered this song last year when Questlove played it during one of his IG quarantine sets. I somehow forgot this song existed, despite wearing the 'Rhythm Nation' tape out as a kid. I'm thinking I skipped the ballads when I was young, but remembered "Come Back to Me" because it was a single. But then I've always remembered "Someday is Tonight," so I don't know.

For some reason I always went from Escapade straight to Come Back To Me

I have no idea why I always skipped it

I let it ride yesterday and was like hold up ..this is a JJ&TL heat rock that went over my head..

She had "Lonely" on the "Rhythm Nation" album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bgE9B8728s

And then there was "I Get Lonely" (I think it's on "Velvet Rope"). This is the one with the remix you posted.
