Fuck it, he's THAT good.
I think why GFK has stood the test of time:
1)He CAN rhyme 2)He IS innovative - whether he's rhyming OVER a song with the VOCAL still on it or being more abstract than Q-Tip 3)He is vulnerable - name a rapper more EMO than Ghost. 4)The story raps are UNPARALLED in artistry. Is there a better story rap than Maxine?

Kept the Wu relevant after their heyday up until Raekwon dropped that Cuban Link 2
There was a period of time between IronMan/Wu Tang Forever/Supreme Clientele where he was rapping at a GODLY level
I'd never heard someone rap with so much urgency passion and creativity. Like the way he was putting words together in patterns that seemed like they shouldn't have been possible.
I feel bad that I kinda stopped checking for Ghost after that BadbadnotGood album(which was damned nice)
Who else but Ghost would/could just start rhyming over an old Delphonics song without changing anything and actually make it WORK?

I loved listening to Ghost back in the Forever-Supreme Clientele era, his voice just sounded great on records. I'm sure RZA's mixing had a hand in that as well.
I also appreciate how prolific he remained after his Def Jam days. We got those Adrian Younge albums, Wu Block, 36 Seasons and Sour Soul. One of the GOATs of the game.

He's excellent. He has a mountain of supreme raps. He has 'classic albums'. He influenced folks. If that's not enough, he has a complete whole different dude who raps damn near the same as him and gets away with it in general. And then, there was the whole BigGhost thing.
And yeah, he held down the Wu when they were stumbling and bumbling.
I dislike when his voice sounds deeper and slower, but maybe that's just me. It's clear that he can do songs and still 'sound like Ghost'. That Teyanna Taylor remix for instance..THAT is how Ghost is supposed to sound.
And maybe we can all say something like 'he should've been a bigger star' but whatever..dude has the raps, the albums, the style, the influence, the everything.
If he never raps another word, his career is still grand! This is all small gripes on a helluva career. I know we're in like the 2nd or 3rd era where we don't appreciate shit and folks love popping up out of nowhere to say something isn't or wasn't that good. And lawd knows you can put me on the 'fuck Twitter, its a shitshow' list, but come the fuck on..it's goddamn Ghostface! And he can still put out something that hits just right. Yeah..much love to Ghost.
