but in a low key way. Like I don't immediately think of it when I think of my absolute favorite P tracks but in reality it's probably pretty high up there.
The vocals on the whole track - the layers in the background, the lower register lead - they're just right and bring a bit of levity to what could be a heavy track.
I could do without the last verse (too on the nose) but otherwise it's such a good lyric, too.
And what else does it sound like in his discography? Not much.

I collect a ton of P stuff, but I don't consider myself a head in any way, but "Joy In Repetition" I believe is also sung in a lower register.
This is the same reason I think "Love No Limit" is Mary J. Blige's best song. A totally different vocal styling ultimately makes the song stand out.
