a LOT lately.
Mainly to get to the very end of the song where he sings

"...and it sure don't matter to-niiiight."

He slightly changes the key of on "tonight".
I'm not a musician so I'm sure that's called something.
But I love it.

but in a low key way. Like I don't immediately think of it when I think of my absolute favorite P tracks but in reality it's probably pretty high up there.

The vocals on the whole track - the layers in the background, the lower register lead - they're just right and bring a bit of levity to what could be a heavy track.

I could do without the last verse (too on the nose) but otherwise it's such a good lyric, too.

And what else does it sound like in his discography? Not much.

It's such a great cut.

I collect a ton of P stuff, but I don't consider myself a head in any way,
but "Joy In Repetition" I believe is also sung in a lower register.

This is the same reason I think "Love No Limit" is Mary J. Blige's best song.
A totally different vocal styling ultimately makes the song stand out.

that and Question of U are in my list of favs. while I wish Question of U had more vocals, he smashes it with the guitar.

Y'all buy those labels, I was born supreme
