It’s a shame he couldn’t have finished his “victory lap” (Lox feature last summer and Versus with Snoop), and gotten to enjoy the release of the album.

I won't get all sappy here as I did on all my social media, but this artist Mustafa from Toronto just released his debut project (unsure whether to call it an album or EP at just 23 minutes) and it's mesmerizing, for me. It gave me the same chills I got when I first heard Sampha's "Process", and Sampha is a feature on this album. It's acoustic guitar-driven, but soulful.
You can find it wherever you find your music (and on the hi-res sites), but I don't think there are CDs out. https://mustafathepoet.com/ ---
Tribute anthologies are often a pretty mixed bag but this one is actually pretty interesting.
It's out on BBE and a lot of the artists will be familiar to OKP (Meshell, Khruangbin, John Carroll Kirby, Jeff Parker, for starters).
If nothing else, check out that Jeff Parker "soul love" cover.
And I don't know who Foxtrott is but the fact that they took what to me is basically an outro (the last track of Diamond Dogs) and cast it as something that stands on its own is gutsy! (And it works!)
