I was a big Foo Fighters fan and it's cool they are in. Dave Grohl has to have one of the best careers in popular music of all time. To go from the biggest and one of the most influential acts of their time in Nirvana to headlining his own Grammy award-winning multi-multi-multi platinum band of his own. Props to him.

If he LL retired from music in say 2002 rather than sometime in the last decade, his career would be viewed better because he wouldn't have the less than spectacular material that came up after 10.
LL is a legend and a pioneer. He wasn't at the heights of Run DMC, but he was damn close. His sound managed to persevere in a way Run DMC and many of the old school acts couldn't. And he sold records too.
But the RRHOF's relationship to hip hop has been troublesome to be diplomatic. It isn't out of character that they got this somewhat wrong.
