Didn't get this up yesterday but a few things of note:
new Valerie June - The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers.
Nubiyan Twist - Freedom Fables - jazz/r&b/afrobeat-ish record out of the UK with a lot of features from that scene (CHERISE, Ego Ella May) -- just listening now, great start to a saturday morning
Pino Palladino/Blake Mills - no idea what this is but I am intrigued (one track is called "Chris Dave", lol)
DJ Muggs - Dies Occidendum
Perfume Genius - IMMEDIATELY (remixes of last year's lp)

The Valerie June album is fantastic. i've played it half a dozen times since yesterday. It's produced by Jack Splash ('member him?) but still sounds very much Valerie (don't expect Plantlife feat Valerie).

I've already played it a lot, too. Right now it doesn't feel quite as cohesive as The Order of Time but that album's on a whole other level to begin with... song for song though, there are only one or two that didn't catch me fully on first listen. (Maybe "Smile" and "Within You" ... they mostly just feel a bit out of place.)
If there's anything I'm not loving, it's *maybe* the sequencing but I need more time with it.
"Two Roads" really got to me and that whole last string of songs is just top-notch and moving. I already loved the Stay/You and I combo and am kind of surprised that's the opener but glad it's here on the lp in its original suite-like form. But yeah, this will certainly be on my top lists for the year.
