I don't know why but I've really come to appreciate Curry over this last year or two. Anyhow, these features are not necessarily what I would have expected on a remix album for last year's unlocked:
So Incredible.pkg (Prod by. Robert Glasper, feat. Smino)
Track07 (Prod by. Georgia Anne Muldrow, feat. Arlo Parks)
'Cosmic'.m4a (Prod by. The Alchemist, feat. Joey Bada$$)
Take_it_Back_v2 (Prod by. Charlie Heat)
Pyro (Prod by. Sango, Feat. Kenny Mason)
Lay_Up.m4a (Prod by. Jay Versace)
DIET_1.5 (Feat. Benny The Butcher)
Take_it_Back_v2 (Prod by. GODMODE)
GAM? Alchemist ft Joey on Cosmic? There's all sorts of surprises on here. How'd this guy get me excited for a remix album?
I think I like Glasper more these days in this type of context -- as a producer of others more than a standalone artist. He had a great remix of Sylvan Esso's "Ferris Wheel" a few months ago, too.

especially for a remix ep

Probably my favorites here -- which is cool as they were favs from the original project. Both Glasper and GAM did a really great job on these -- Glasper's feels really organic, like it could have been an original cut, and GAM's has a sort of classic remix feel where you know it's a remix but that's part of what it makes it great.

Kind of disappointed in this one but it's not bad.
The GODMODE version of Take_it_back was nice for a single listen but probably more of a novelty than anything. The Charlie Heat remix is *super* nice though.
Benny's feature on Diet is great, too.
On the whole, a really impressive set. Playing it side by side w/the original also makes Kenny Beats eclecticism really standout -- like, who else is doing a So.Incredible/Track07 combo right now for someone like Denzel right now, almost making a mini-suite?

at least not as much as the original. some of the later tracks did hit better though. i kind of wish they did more with denzels vocals, on many tracks they sound like vocals laid on a track that they werent made for.
