First thing I thought of here is Jazmine Sullivan's record. I thought it was great although I already went in and took the skits from the record off my albums playlist, they were fine on first listen but I don't need to hear them again.
The Other Side might be my standout from the record.

Mans need to be checking out Jerome Thomas. His EP from last year was one of my most listened to projects. Great vocals, jazzy production.
I did a search here to see if he's come up on the boards before but couldn't find anything. Listen to his Mood Swings EP and check out some tracks here. Thank me later

It's out and it's a good listen.
He starts out sounding a little too much like he's making an Usher album (not shade actually, Mr. Raymond is a made man, imo) but he corrects and starts to give more of the unique sound of his debut.
respect, bc

I've said this before but man, Paak is easily one of our best writers/performers right now and this is the type of material that I think shows him off best. It's not showy at all but everything's super smart and smooth: the melody, the change-ups, the bridge feels natural as hell, the outro...
Anyhow, two notes:
1) Bruno has a co-writing credit, which makes me think either this was considered for Silk Sonic but didn't fit for some reason or it was written while they've been working on some of that stuff and Bruno just put in his two cents.
2) Alissia Benveniste has writing credits too -- she's the bassist/writer/producer that put in a ton of work on the Topaz Jones album this year and showed up on another single with a similar vibe by someone named RickExpress, "Not as Blue":
