"New Release Friday - 2021-01-29"

Madlib/Four Tet is big on the agenda of course (listening now, dope as expected). Road of the Lonely Ones is going to be on repeat for a while, at least.

Arlo Parks' debut "Collapsed in Sunbeams" - not sure why but she hasn't hit for me quite yet, still excited to give it a listen with all the hype she's received.

Not seeing a whole lot of other stuff at first glance. PJ Harvey reissued "Is This Desire" with a collection of demos -- but not sure there are a whole lot of PJ Harvey fans still hanging around, lol...

What's out there?

new remix of Khruangbin's "Dear Alfred" by knxwledge

a remix of Natalia Lafourcade's Tu Si Sabes Quererme (this was actually really good, imo)

"Day by Day" from Gary Bartz's upcoming edition of Muhammad/Younge's JID series (this was really good too, got me excited for this release)

Only know about this because I happened to read an email from an artist I sorta follow (or at least I haven't unsubscribed from his newsletter) who mentioned this. Love this. It's one of those daptone-ish live band playing hip hop beats sort of things, but just drums and piano, and more pensive than these things usually go.

Kid Icarus is my favorite so far. But it's all way good to my ears.

I check for: Serengeti, Zeroh, Open Mike Eagle, Jeremiah Jae, Moka Only.
