First release day of October and start of the final quarter of the year -- actually more stuff out today than I had heard about. Sadly, no Thought though.
At the top of my list:
Alchemist - A Doctor, A Painter, and An Alchemist... Mariah Carey - Rarities Sa-Roc - The Sharecropper's Daughter Shamir - Shamir Gabriel Garzon-Montano - Aguita Jonsi - Shiver
Also, for anyone who super-vibed on Ana Frango Eletrico's album last year, it looks like they have a single out, "Mama Planta Baby." Lots of other smaller projects too including stuff from Lupe.

Have been waiting on this one for a while now and on first listen it doesn't disappoint.
Talk about dismissing genres -- it's all over the place yet it mostly works and just feels epic. Prince nods from the nude cover pose a la Lovesexy to some of the vocals (almost Camille-like on the opener "Tombs," though part of that is just his own voice I think, I noticed that on Jardin too) and guitar nods throughout the music. Plus a Theo Bleckmann feature (sort of a new classical singer) over a glitchy left turn at the end? Lots of strings but very carefully deployed.

The Butcher & The Blade and 98 Sabres (Just Blaze track) were the two songs that stood out and added to the playlist. It helps that these are the Griselda posse cuts.
So "Tape Tape" will be a running playlist of trap type music which will release on a regular basis....but it's all apart of one project. The release of the music will depend on if people like Lu making that type of music, if people like it he'll put out more....and if people just wanna hear normal Lupe he'll just stop putting them out.
There's gonna be another actual project before the end of the year that has nothing to do with Tape Tape. It will probably be the Amy Winehouse project.
My take: I'm more curious how people react with Lu dropping different types of music at the same time. People here will get it....but normal folk are kinda slow and won't get it IMO.
Anyways, Romy for The xx put out her first single in an attempt to dance the pain away in "Lifetime"
Other than that Alchemist making a legit instrumental album is dope, Slick Rick rapping like a Griselda member on Flygod's album is awesome (please make another album Rick) and the internet is being way too harsh on Bryson Tiller's album....I think people will come around to it.
