The big release this week around here is probably SAULT - Untitled (Rise) ... and for good reason!
What's on everyone's radar?
Some other stuff I'm checking out:
Takuya Kuroda - Fly Moon Die Soon
Sly5thAve - What It Is (on Tru Thoughts, looks like Denitia's on a few songs)
Namir Blade - Aphelion's Traveling Circus (unfamiliar with the act but it's on Mello so probably worth a listen)
Brittany Howard released two remixes from the Jaime album.
And there's a new Murs collab project... "He's the Christian I'm the Rapper" (lol)
And for the acoustic/singer-songwriter/folk/americana listeners ... Gillian Welch - Boots No. 2: The Lost Songs, Vol. 2 --- This makes three releases of "new" material in just a handful of months, two albums of unreleased songs and one album of covers. All unexpected and all stellar.
2. "Declaime/Madlib - Illminded" In response to Reply # 0
Apparently this is a recently found collection of tapes from the mid-90s that Declaime and Madlib worked on together? Haven't listened yet but that sounds really promising.
The Alicia Keys album slaps when you slice the ultra-positive joints out (she makes way too many of those songs IMO). So glad to see another Sampha collab, "3 Hour Drive" should be a hit, but it probably won't be.
Honestly Busta should've just stole "Bubblin" since it sounded like a Busta Rhymes song anyway.
Curren$y & Harry Fraud made another project out of the scraps of The Outrunners.....which it okay because there's no such thing as a bad Curren$y project. They're either good or great.
The Armani Ceaser album was okay....she's gonna need time to develop because all the features and the beats propped her up (FlyGod is pretty damn good at putting together projects). I can't stop listening to "Drill-O-Rama" with Benny tho.
