"Boldly James..."
Mon Aug-17-20 04:19 PM by Stadiq

Now that he is on Griselda, will he get more shine?

Dude is a better artist than all those dudes imo (Benny, Westside, Conway)

This Versace Tape is really good so far.

Plus this is amazing and is up there for AOTY imo

Then you have that joint with Alchemist.

Dude is having a helluva year. But he isn't mentioned nearly as much as his (now) label mates...hopefully he'll get his due now.

If you haven't checked Manger on McNichols do so now...

he bores me. the price of tea on china was good from what i remember.

the versace tape had some pretty cool beats but his rapping was eh to me. i finally got around to listening to that manger one since its only on bandcamp. same thing. some good beats but eh rapping.

maybe hes just trying to put out too much stuff

I could see that, but no way is he more boring than say Benny.

He rewards multiple listens imo. He bored me at first too, actually. A lot more depth/variety to his subject matter than I initially caught though.

to be honest im not huge on benny. i dont quite get the hype. i havent listened to a lot of his projects though.

i think the one i like the most and i think hes not even really part of them is elcamino.

i know wsg has an annoying voice and isnt the best lyrically but he is entertaining. ive liked his projects the most.

First time he was on my radar was his verse on the Cool Kids album. And I mess with "My First Chemistry Set" pretty heavy. Dope voice, dope flow, solid versatility.

I liked both Boldface and Price of Tea. I need to listen to the other two EPs. Westside seems pretty committed to hyping him, so I figure his stature will continue to grow. It'll be interesting to see if/how much he's integrated into the crew for all the forthcoming Griselda crew albums that they mention.

Seriously, I'm struggling to understand why these guys get so much more praise/attention than him.

If *that kind* of rap isn't your bag, I get it. 100%

But if you dig those dudes, how do you not dig him?

He is more versatile than Benny in every single way.

A lot of gimmicks surrounding those Griselda dudes but folks don't want to talk about it honestly.

I like em all. I got into Gunn first. Them beats are a lock to be bonkers and he’s not nearly as bad a rapper as folks swear he is sometimes. Mr. T might still be the best song any of them have ever made. Then I approached Benny (I like the most as a rapper). Then I got the gift of Conway. His babies and fools verse and The Cow means I’ll always like him as a rapper too.

The person I keep swinging in on a rope for is Roc Marciano. There has to be a behind the scenes reason he isn’t bigger. What is it? He is regularly showing off as a rapper and his samples make me smile on the outside. I can listen to Richard Gear multiple times in a row and still not get tired of it. At worst, Boldy is kind of a less dynamic Roc, but I usually like the stuff I’ve heard from him.
