First big release week in a little bit (from what I can see/remember, lol). Sidenote: Bandcamp is giving their share of sales today to the NAACP legal defense fund -- so if you're buying, think about buying there. And since a number of artists are currently giving their sales to good causes (see: Esperanza Spalding/Fred Hersch ep), 20 bucks could suddenly go a long way.
What's everyone checking for?
On the radar for this week:
Sault - Untitled (black is)
Skyzoo - Milestones EP
younge/shaheed muhammad - jazz is dead 2 (roy ayers)
teyana taylor - the album
pheoebe bridgers - punisher
braids - shadow offering
brad mehldau - suite: April 2020
Singles/loosies: a.paak - lockdown
angel olsen - new love cassette (mark ronson remix)
even better than the bluest note, same jazzy vibe but all focused on fatherhood. this guy is having a year.

I think the first record I listened to from him was Peddler Themes - that was just in 2017. He didn't blow me away right away but I kept going back, checking out earlier stuff, keeping up with the new releases. In just those few years he's easily moved into one of my absolute favorites doing it right now. His catalog is exceptional, his lyricism is flawless, and he's got a great ear for production.
