As I said in GD, we frown upon Greatest Hits albums as the purists we are, but there are still a few artists I keep their GHs on deck and Bill is one of them.
Absolute gem of an artist.
I don’t know why, and I know I don’t have to bring anyone else up but Bill in this post, but I always saw him and Van Morrison as artists who were underrated, among the absolute best, and just had a down to Earth soulful vibe about them that was un-fucking-deniable.
Even his origin of his songwriting and music career is unique and also seems fitting to his quiet and sly music.
It's a shame that his second label (Columbia?) didn't handle his career properly because the culture missed out on decades of great music. That being said he contributed so much to music culture and also influenced and shaped generations of musicians that developed after his career.
Seemed like a good man with integrity which is too rare in the music industry.
