"New Donald Glover/Childish 3.15.20 album post"

He dropped a new album today, any thoughts. I've listened to it a few times and it's grown on me, far from what he did on his last album. I like it so far

also kind of wish he titled the tracks instead of using the time stamps, but it is what it is. i'll take new music over no music.

And really like it. It's interesting to notice his influences and how the shift over the course of the album. I hear a little Yeezus and Stevie and Lenny and Queen. He's a bit like Voodoo in the way that he's able to take the influences and seem more like an homage than imitation.

Also, for the first time in a long time, I just sat and listened to this record without browsing the internet or just doing anything else. Made for a good experience. I used to do that all the time as a kid but age and the pace of things get in the way now. It was weird how impatient I got as the time went. But I'll have to carve out time to do it again soon.

I'm actually jealous of the fact that Donald Glover of all people has a proper "soul holler" in his singing voice, which doesn't make any sense at all.
