"Who/What do you wanna hear in 2020."

A shortlist of what I wanna hear & do this year:

More Madlib releases. (apparently he'd doing a delivery service to drop more stuff)
More Afrobeat Crossover records.
The Roots.
Jamie XX & The XX.
Go to my first EDM festival.
Tame Impala.
Big Boi & Sleepy Brown - The Big Sleepover
Phantogram.
Listening to more Japanese City Pop records.

...so what are y'all trying to hear & do this year?

The Roots have posted that they're dropping their album this year. Apparently Kendrick is working on his new album. I have no idea when it'll come out. Radiohead is an unknown to me. I don't follow their news but I'm interested to see what direction their next album will take them.

- Nas/Primo album.
- A Justus League album with at least one verse from ALL of them including affiliates like Scudda, and nobody else on the album - with only 9th and Khrysis on the boards.
- A new Median album.
- The Roots album to actually drop, with Thought rapping a lot on it.
- Streams of Thought Vol. 3. The more Thought, the better off we all are. He might be the GOAT.
- A surprise drop, we find out on IG like 30 minutes before midnight OutKast album.

I know his last LP was formed around a death, so maybe some clouds have lifted and he could work in some drums and up the tempo some like his Everything is Recorded and SBTRK collabs.

I want a hard ab-soul album...I think he has bars and potential and all that. I'd really like him to see some of the success J-Rocc has gotten.

Am I trippin, or does Ab-Soul not have 'it'. I've heard sparks of it on collabs with other members of TDE and with other artists.

What say yall?

I really liked Control System, but since the two albums he's dropped since TDE popped off have both been duds to me. I haven't even gone back to them.

When Section.80 dropped and I started checking for all the Black Hippy related albums, Ab-Soul was the non-Kendrick member I thought for sure would be dropping the best work, but for me that honor goes to ScHoolboy Q at this point, and I'd prob listen to a Jay Rock album before an Ab-Soul album.

I still have hope though and will continue to check for any new material he drops.

There's paying homage...then there's biting.

Ab-Soul went all in on biting everyone from Danny Brown to Kanye to Kast to others.

That said, if he chilled on the biting, went back to his own flow, and made an EP with one producer like Terrace Martin or something? Shiiiiit.
