"Is it still cool to post (y)our own music in here? lol"

I barely see Lessonheads sharing their new songs, projects, videos, etc. in here much these days. I know we're washed and all, but I know some of us are still creating lol. With that said, I wanted to share my (Jasper Brown) new project with y'all titled "Purposeful". It's ten songs, and I handle all of the rapping, while all of the beats were provided by a really dope cat out of Boston named 16BitSpit. It's possible that maybe 1 or 2 of y'all may have heard me rap before on a group project I was part of titled "Them That Do...", which was entirely produced by the Lesson's own Small Pro (featuring Muhsinah, John Robinson, Georgia Anne Muldrow, etc.), and was released on HiPNOTT Records in 2017.

I sincerely feel as though I put together a project that folks in here would definitely be able to get into, rhymes and beats-wise, so please consider giving it a listen. I would greatly appreciate it, as well as any feedback you'd care to share. Good, bad or indifferent. Here is a link where you can check it out on whichever digital/streaming service you prefer: https://smarturl.it/purposeful

Peace!

...gotta give it a longer listen, but i can see some de la influence, you remind me a little bit of Posdnuos and that's a good thing.

Very much up my alley and I'm from Boston so I'm glad to see a Boston producer getting in some work ! Are you from Boston too ?

I agree with the poster above who noted your similarities to Posdnuous in terms of mic presence. It's in your voice but also your flow/cadence and the emphasis you put on certain words in a bar. Obviously, as you said, that's one hell of a compliment haha.

I'd love to hear your album with Small Pro too ! I can't remember if I listened to it at the time but I may have. It doesn't appear to be on Spotify but let me know if I'm missing it somehow.

Anyway nice work I'll be giving it more listens for sure.

I'm originally from Cambridge, MA but I've lived most of my life in Maryland. I actually just did a video interview with LFOD Radio, which is based in Boston. That should go live in the next few weeks.

And yeah, not mad at a Pos comparison at all! The Them That Do project unfortunately isn't on streaming services because HiPNOTT changed management a few years back and pulled their back catalog. Hoping to get Phat to put it on DSPs himself at some point since he has the rights to it. He did make it available via Bandcamp.
