i wish he would have pushed more, like Gibbs on Bandana or Von on City for Sale ill def give this some burn, but i def prefer projects where MCs of his caliber are really stretching and not just giving more of the same

bought the download on my iPad. On the drive home from Galveston, I was mad that I couldn't listen to it. Happened to look on Spotify on my phone and there it was. Bumped it like 3 times, during the trip. That was Saturday. Looked at it on Monday and it was gone.

I feel like God Loves You is a little bit of a break in the action...an explanation, if you will. Or, I could be overthinking it. Either way... it’s become my favorite Roc song.

of sorts.
you want a steady beat: Richard Gear
you want a 'normal' hook: God Love$ You
He seems to really stick to what works for him and make his shxt on his own terms. IGWT is like Def Poetry Jam for D-boys. I swear I hear him snapping his fingers.
As far as my 'never breaking character' statement, that was my summation of 'getting it'; that was/is part his appeal for me. There's not a lot of background on his personal life, and what IS out there seems to blend almost seamlessly with is music 'persona'. I entertain myself by suspending belief.
My "ah-HAH, I get it" moment was when I listened to his body of work as of late and asked 'where does Rahkeim Calief Meyer end and Roc Marciano begin'? Is he supposed to be 'an artist' or IS HE the 'art'?
Also I'm an old head. so take this all with a large grain of salt. Imagine the look on my kids' faces whn I'm walking round the crib talkin about "HANG ME ON THE CROSS I ALL MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOLD"

The only song I think is kind of mid is Puff Daddy bc of Cook$ but I love Cook$ on God Loves. Joe Jackson is a fire beat for an outro (I made a playlist where tracklist is the same but put Legacy after Boosie Fade instead of the album ending with someone other than Roc). I really wish Roc would’ve rapped on Legacy though, I like that piece of music.
I follow Roc on IG. I dunno if he lives in LA full time but I think he spends some time there and you can hear it in the music imo. Production sounds brighter than previous albums.
i think Puff Daddy is one of the hardest beats on the album Roc Marciano is unpredictable with his verses and beat selection he's not afraid to take risks with the music and no one sounds like him
