has anyone else gotten notifications of new de la singles?
first it was "its like that" but when i clicked on it i saw it was the grind date song with carl thomas. i went to google play music and there was a single for its like that dated this year.
then this past weekend i got another one for "rock kokainco. flo" with that spelling. i figured it was the same thing and yep. it again shows on google play as 2019 but is the same song from the grind date but for some reason with different spelling.
Oh wait...it was one of the songs she put out a couple years ago..holup

He talked about working with Caron Wheeler as well, and (I didnt know this either, but it makes sense now) that "Back to Life" is about dying and rebirth

...of all the hip hop groups to have their albums held off streaming services, it's probably the greatest group of all time that gets the shaft. Fucked up for the Artist and for the fans (including potential new fans)

... for De La, and for younger legions of fans who've missed out on discovering them. DLS probably missed the most important window of this streaming explosion, in terms of being rediscovered. Even if they got put on now they probably missed out on thousands of young new fans who won't otherwise find them unless they've heavily promoted on Spotify/iTunes/etc.

Rather than being available immediately along with (nearly) every catalog in the history of music, if and when they eventually drop on streaming services it will be more of an event due to both the long wait and the fact that they aren't dropping with thousands of other artists. It will be a bigger deal and probably result in more ears listening in just out of curiosity, complete with a trending hashtag and whatnot.

Cause I've been listening to pretty much non-stop Jay for like 48 straight hours, and I have all his music on other platforms/physical. And it's seemingly all the music would have been talking about since he put his music back on the streaming platforms.
Obviously De La's not on Jay's global level of popularity/notoriety but I still think you're onto something, that just the rollout and promotion for De La's music *finally* being on streaming will give them some steam and make up for lost time.

Newkirk said that the engineer is the host for the game show..said Paul just kinda thought it up like "hey! we need skits! Let's do a game show! Who's gonna host? Hey...engineer!" that shits awesome..
